CB Zaragoza secured a convincing 92-73 home win over Iraurgi SB in Spain’s Segunda FEB on October 18, 2026, combining efficient perimeter shooting with a strong second-half defensive effort.

Match overview

Zaragoza led 25-18 after the first quarter and maintained a 47-38 advantage at halftime. The hosts took control in the third quarter, outscoring Iraurgi 24-17 to build a 71-55 lead, then closed the game with a composed final period. Iraurgi struggled to find rhythm against Zaragoza’s switching defense and was forced into several late shot-clock attempts.

Key moments

The game turned early in the third quarter when Zaragoza opened with a 12-3 run, capped by back-to-back three-pointers from the wing. That burst pushed the lead to 59-41 and forced Iraurgi to call timeout. The visitors briefly responded with a 7-0 spurt, but Zaragoza answered with a 10-2 run of their own to restore a comfortable cushion entering the fourth quarter.

Tactical story

Zaragoza’s ball movement was the story of the game. The hosts recorded 18 assists and consistently found open shooters against Iraurgi’s help defense, knocking down 12 three-pointers. Defensively, Zaragoza limited second-chance points and forced 15 turnovers, turning several of them into transition baskets. Iraurgi competed on the glass but could not match Zaragoza’s efficiency from the perimeter or handle the hosts’ pressure in the backcourt.

Standout performers

• Alejandro Moreno (CB Zaragoza): 20 points and 5 assists, leading the scoring effort.
• Diego Fernández (CB Zaragoza): 16 points and 8 rebounds, controlling the interior.
• Pablo Alba (CB Zaragoza): 14 points and 6 assists, directing the offense efficiently.
• Iker Zubizarreta (Iraurgi SB): 18 points, one of the visitors’ few consistent offensive threats.

What it means

The win gives CB Zaragoza an important boost in the Segunda FEB standings and reinforces their home-court advantage. It also provides momentum heading into a competitive stretch of the schedule. Iraurgi SB will need to improve their perimeter defense and half-court execution to avoid similar lopsided defeats, while Zaragoza will look to maintain their shooting form and defensive intensity in the next round.
