Lima-Horta’s third-quarter performance proved decisive. The visitors outscored Adareva 17-11 in that period, turning a narrow halftime advantage into a double-digit cushion. Adareva fought hard in the fourth, but the home side could not string together enough stops to threaten the result in the final minutes.

Key moments

Adareva briefly threatened midway through the fourth quarter, cutting the deficit to single digits and forcing Lima-Horta into a timeout. The visitors responded with a patient offensive possession and a key defensive stop, then added free throws to push the lead back to a comfortable margin. From there, Lima-Horta managed the clock well and denied Adareva the quick scoring run it needed.

The game’s turning point came late in the third quarter, when Lima-Horta closed the period on a run built on defensive rebounds and transition baskets. That burst gave the visitors a cushion that Adareva, despite a spirited effort, could not erase.

Tactical story

Lima-Horta’s defensive rebounding and half-court discipline were central to the win. The visitors limited second-chance points and forced Adareva into contested jump shots. On offense, Lima-Horta attacked the paint when the opportunity presented itself and moved the ball well enough to create open looks on the perimeter.

Adareva’s best moments came when it increased the tempo and attacked early in the shot clock. However, the home side struggled with turnovers in key moments and was unable to convert enough of its looks from beyond the arc. In a low-scoring game, those empty possessions proved costly.

Standout performers

Lima-Horta’s backcourt controlled the game with steady ball-handling and timely shot-making, while the interior players did the dirty work on the glass. Adareva’s forwards competed throughout, but the home team lacked the consistent scoring punch needed to close the gap in the fourth quarter.

For the LF Challenge Women standings, this is a meaningful road result for Lima-Horta Women, who showed the kind of defensive identity that travels well in a competitive promotion race. CB Adareva Tenerife Women, meanwhile, will focus on reducing turnovers and improving their late-game execution before the next fixture.
