The final score reflected Ajdovscina’s control on both ends of the floor and left Luka Koper with little margin for error throughout the contest.

How the game unfolded

Ajdovscina opened with a 22-12 first quarter, setting the tone with aggressive defense and quick transition baskets. The second quarter followed a similar pattern, as the visitors added another 22 points while holding Luka Koper to 14, taking a 44-26 lead into halftime.

The third quarter was more of the same. Ajdovscina kept the pressure on, moved the ball effectively, and extended the advantage to 66-39. With the outcome no longer in doubt, the visitors managed the final period and closed out the cup win.

Tactical story

The game was decided by Ajdovscina’s defensive intensity. Luka Koper struggled to find clean looks, and the visitors’ rotations forced turnovers and contested shots. Ajdovscina also controlled the defensive glass, limiting second-chance points and keeping the hosts from building any momentum.

Offensively, Ajdovscina attacked with balance. The team shared the ball, attacked closeouts, and converted inside when the defense collapsed. Luka Koper had brief positive spells, but the hosts could not sustain them against consistent pressure.

Standout performers

Ajdovscina’s balanced scoring made the team difficult to defend. Multiple players contributed in double figures, and the bench maintained the energy level in the second half. The backcourt controlled the pace, while the frontcourt finished efficiently around the basket.

For Luka Koper, the cup exit will be disappointing, but the effort remained visible. The hosts were simply outmatched by a team that executed better on both ends and capitalized on nearly every mistake.

What it means

Ajdovscina advances with confidence and a convincing road result in the Slovenia Basketball Cup. Cup competitions can be unpredictable, but this performance underlined the team’s readiness for the next stage.

Luka Koper will shift focus back to league commitments. The result is a tough one to absorb, but the experience against a sharper opponent provides a clear benchmark for improvement.
