Pielle Livorno Hold Off PSA Casoria for 84-75 Home Win

Pielle Livorno secured an important 84-75 victory over PSA Casoria in Serie B Basket on 26 October 2026, combining a strong third-quarter surge with composed execution down the stretch. The hosts led for much of the game, but Casoria remained within striking distance until the final minutes, making it a useful test of Livorno’s maturity and late-game decision-making.

The win adds valuable momentum to Livorno’s season and gives their home supporters a performance built on balanced scoring, offensive rebounding and timely perimeter defense. Casoria left with credit for their fighting spirit, but they were ultimately undone by a scoring drought at the worst possible moment.

Match Overview

Livorno edged the first quarter 22-19 and added a 18-17 advantage in the second to take a 40-36 lead into the locker room. Casoria stayed close by attacking the basket and drawing fouls, but Livorno’s ability to answer each run kept the home side in front.

The third quarter proved decisive. Livorno exploded for 24 points while holding Casoria to 20, extending the lead to 64-56. Casoria responded in the fourth and twice cut the deficit to a single possession, but Livorno converted key free throws and made the bigger defensive plays in the closing minutes to seal an 84-75 result.

Key Moments

The game’s turning point came midway through the third period when Livorno put together a 10-2 run. It began with a defensive stop and a transition layup, then continued with back-to-back three-pointers that forced Casoria into a timeout. The burst changed the complexion of the game and gave Livorno the cushion they needed.

Casoria refused to fold. A quick 7-0 run early in the fourth brought them back into contention, and their pressure defense created a few nervy possessions for the hosts. However, Livorno’s half-court offense found the right answers late, using ball screens to create driving lanes and finishing at the rim when Casoria overcommitted on the perimeter.

Tactical Story

Livorno’s offense was at its best when the ball moved through the paint. Their big men set solid screens, rolled hard to the basket and created open looks for shooters. On the offensive glass, Livorno’s second-chance points proved especially damaging, allowing them to survive stretches when their outside shot abandoned them.

Casoria’s game plan centered on three-point shooting and pace. They found success when they pushed the ball after misses and attacked before Livorno’s defense could set. But in the half court, Casoria struggled against Livorno’s switching and help defense, particularly in the third quarter. The visitors also committed a few costly turnovers in the final five minutes, which Livorno converted into decisive points.

Standout Performers

Livorno’s backcourt controlled the tempo and made several important plays in the fourth quarter, while their leading scorer provided a steady offensive presence throughout. The frontcourt contributed crucial rebounds and interior defense, giving the team a balanced foundation.

For PSA Casoria, the guards were the main source of energy, repeatedly attacking the rim and keeping the visitors within reach. Their wing players also hit timely shots, but Casoria needed one more consistent scoring option once Livorno tightened its defense late in the game.

Season Impact

The 84-75 win strengthens Pielle Livorno’s position in the Serie B Basket standings and gives them a valuable home result against a direct competitor. Winning close games is often the difference between a solid season and a special one, and Livorno showed the poise required to protect a lead under pressure.

PSA Casoria can take encouragement from their competitiveness on the road, but they will need to clean up their late-game execution. For Livorno, the focus will be on maintaining the defensive intensity that carried them through the third quarter and turning this performance into a consistent run.
