Ravenna Take Road Win Over Faenza 78-69 in Serie B Basket

Ravenna defeated Faenza 78-69 in Serie B Basket on October 12, 2026, securing a valuable nine-point road victory. The win was built on clutch perimeter shooting, solid defensive adjustments, and a composed fourth-quarter performance.

Faenza had the home crowd behind them, but Ravenna controlled the game's biggest moments. The visitors led by a narrow margin for much of the night before pulling away late. The final score of 78-69 reflected Ravenna's efficiency and Faenza's late struggles.

Match Overview

Serie B Basket is an important level of Italian men's basketball, known for tactical matchups and intense regional rivalries. Faenza and Ravenna are familiar opponents, and their meeting on October 12 carried extra significance in the standings.

The game was closely contested through three quarters. Both teams traded runs, and neither could build a comfortable lead. But Ravenna's execution in the final period proved decisive. They made the extra pass, hit timely three-pointers, and got stops when it mattered most.

Key Moments That Decided the Game

The first half was a chess match. Faenza used their interior game to score inside, while Ravenna relied on ball movement and perimeter shooting. The lead changed hands several times, and neither team led by more than a few points.

In the third quarter, Faenza made a push. Their defense forced a few turnovers, and their crowd came alive. But Ravenna weathered the storm. A late third-quarter three-pointer gave them momentum heading into the final period. In the fourth, Ravenna's defense tightened. They closed out on shooters, contested drives, and limited Faenza's second-chance opportunities. Offensively, Ravenna's guards controlled the tempo and knocked down free throws down the stretch, sealing the 78-69 win.

Tactical Story

Ravenna's offense was patient and purposeful. They used screens to create mismatches, attacked closeouts, and moved the ball until they found an open shooter. Their three-point shooting was a key weapon, especially in the second half. Defensively, Ravenna switched between man-to-man and a compact zone, forcing Faenza into contested jumpers.

Faenza had success when they fed the post and crashed the offensive glass. But their perimeter shooting was inconsistent, and they struggled to contain Ravenna's guards off the dribble. The turnover battle also favored Ravenna, who converted several Faenza mistakes into transition points. Those extra possessions made the difference in a nine-point game.

Standout Performers

Ravenna's backcourt was outstanding, controlling the pace and making big shots in the fourth quarter. Their forwards contributed on the boards and defended multiple positions. It was a balanced team effort, with players stepping up at different moments.

For Faenza, their interior players had strong stretches, scoring around the rim and drawing fouls. Their guards showed flashes of playmaking, but the team could not find enough consistent offense in the closing minutes. Defensively, Faenza had good moments but could not get the crucial stops when Ravenna made their run.

Serie B Basket Standings Impact

This 78-69 road win is a significant result for Ravenna in the Serie B Basket standings. Road victories are hard to come by in Italian basketball, and this one will boost confidence. For Faenza, the home defeat is a missed opportunity, but the season is long. They will need to improve their late-game execution and perimeter defense in upcoming fixtures. The head-to-head result gives Ravenna an early edge if the two teams are competing for similar positions later in the season.
