Mega Hold Off Novosadska Women 67-63 in Serbian Women's League Battle

Mega produced a composed fourth-quarter finish to beat Novosadska Women 67-63 in the Ženska košarkaška liga on 27 October 2026. In a game that swung repeatedly, the visitors made the decisive plays down the stretch to leave with a hard-earned road victory.

The final scoreline reflected how tight the contest was for long stretches. Novosadska started brightly, Mega responded before half-time, and a strong third quarter gave the visitors just enough separation to survive a late home rally.

Match overview

Mega’s 67-63 win was built on a balanced scoring effort and a timely defensive stand in the final minute. The quarter breakdown underlined the momentum shifts:

• First quarter: Novosadska 18-16 Mega
• Second quarter: Novosadska 15-18 Mega
• Third quarter: Novosadska 14-19 Mega
• Fourth quarter: Novosadska 16-14 Mega

Novosadska led 33-34 at the main break, but Mega’s 19-point third quarter changed the complexion of the game. The visitors entered the final period with a 53-47 advantage and did enough at the free-throw line to keep Novosadska at arm’s length.

Key moments

The decisive stretch came late in the third quarter when Mega mounted a 9-2 run, turning a one-possession game into a more comfortable lead. Novosadska refused to fade, cutting the deficit to 61-60 with under three minutes remaining after a pair of strong drives and an offensive rebound basket.

Mega answered immediately with a perimeter jumper and a defensive stop, then converted key free throws in the closing seconds. Novosadska had one last look from beyond the arc, but the attempt rimmed out, allowing Mega to close out the 67-63 result.

Tactical story

Mega’s zone defense caused problems for Novosadska in the middle quarters, forcing contested jump shots and limiting clean entry passes into the post. The visitors also controlled the defensive glass in the second half, reducing Novosadska’s second-chance opportunities and allowing Mega to play with more control in transition.

Novosadska’s best spells came when it attacked the paint early in possessions and moved the ball side to side. That approach produced a strong opening quarter and a late surge, but turnovers in the third quarter proved costly.

Standout performers

Mega’s backcourt managed the game well in the fourth quarter, combining timely shot-making with composure at the free-throw line. Novosadska’s interior players kept the home side in contention with physical finishes around the rim, while their guards generated pressure late.

Season impact

The road win gives Mega an important confidence boost in the Serbian Women’s League standings, while Novosadska will rue a missed opportunity after leading early. Both teams showed enough to suggest they will remain competitive in the next round of fixtures.
