Key moments

The visitors briefly responded with a flurry of points, but Red Star’s defensive pressure and offensive rebounding prevented any sustained comeback. A late fourth-quarter push from Vojvodina was quickly answered, sealing the home win.

Tactical story

Red Star’s interior defense was central to the victory. The hosts protected the paint, contested drives, and forced Vojvodina into contested outside shots. On offense, Red Star played through the post, drawing double-teams and creating open looks for cutters and shooters. Their rebounding advantage gave them extra possessions, and their bench provided valuable minutes without allowing the intensity to drop.

Vojvodina competed well in spurts, particularly when they pushed the pace and attacked before Red Star’s defense could set. However, the visitors struggled to sustain that tempo and were hurt by turnovers in the third quarter. Red Star’s ability to control the glass and convert defensive stops into points proved decisive.

Standout performers

Red Star’s center dominated the paint with 18 points and 12 rebounds, anchoring both the offense and defense. The home guard added 15 points and five assists, consistently finding seams in Vojvodina’s defense. For Vojvodina, the leading scorer finished with 16 points, while their forward contributed 11 points and seven rebounds in a hard-fought effort.

Season impact

The win gives Red Star valuable momentum in the Ženska košarkaška liga 1 standings and reinforces their home-court strength. For Vojvodina, the loss offers clear areas for improvement, especially in handling pressure and protecting the defensive glass. The head-to-head result favors Red Star, and both teams will look to build on different lessons as the league schedule continues.
