Key Moments

Trailing 70-68 with just over three minutes remaining, KK Nis produced the game’s most important run. A corner three-pointer gave the visitors the lead, and a subsequent steal led to a fast-break layup that made it 73-70. Kolubara answered with a tough baseline jumper, but KK Nis’s half-court defense held firm on the next two possessions.

The final minute was chaotic. Kolubara had a chance to tie after drawing a foul, but made only one of two free throws. KK Nis then hit one of two at the other end to keep the door open. Kolubara’s last-second three-pointer rimmed out, allowing KK Nis to escape with the two-point win.

Tactical Story

KK Nis won this game with perimeter efficiency and late-game discipline. The visitors shot 10-of-24 from beyond the arc and made timely free throws down the stretch. Defensively, KK Nis adjusted its pick-and-roll coverage in the second half, forcing Kolubara’s ball handlers toward the baseline and limiting clean looks at the rim.

Kolubara was strong on the offensive glass and generated second-chance points, but its half-court offense stalled in key moments. The home side relied heavily on individual shot creation, and when KK Nis tightened its help defense late, Kolubara struggled to find open shooters. The free-throw discrepancy also hurt: Kolubara left points at the line in a game decided by a single possession.

Standout Players

• Stefan Đorđević, KK Nis: 22 points and 5 assists, hitting several contested shots in the fourth quarter.
• Marko Ilić, KK Nis: 14 points and 10 rebounds, anchoring the interior defense and controlling the glass late.
• Miloš Vasić, Kolubara: 19 points and 7 rebounds, carrying the offense for long stretches.
• Dušan Petrović, Kolubara: 15 points and 4 assists, providing pace and penetration before foul trouble limited his minutes.

Season Impact

The road win gives KK Nis momentum in the Serbia Basketball League standings and signals that the team can close out tight games away from home. For Kolubara, the loss is a frustrating one because the team competed well enough to win. The focus will now shift to late-game execution, free-throw shooting, and half-court offense against set defenses. In a league where road results often shape the playoff picture, KK Nis’s two-point escape could prove significant.
