Sloga produced a powerful road performance to defeat Borac Zemun 99-87 in the Serbia Basketball League on Sunday night, with an offensive display that overwhelmed the hosts in the second half. The visitors' scoring depth and shooting efficiency proved too much for a Zemun side that competed hard but could not match Sloga's firepower down the stretch.

Match Overview

The opening quarter was a tight, competitive affair, with Borac Zemun feeding off home energy and knocking down shots from the perimeter. Sloga stayed patient, working the ball inside and drawing fouls to keep pace. As the game progressed, however, the visitors' superior ball movement began to create cleaner looks, and the momentum gradually shifted.

The third quarter proved decisive. Sloga accelerated the tempo, hit a flurry of shots from beyond the arc and built a lead that gave them full control of the contest. Zemun attempted to respond with a late surge, but Sloga's composure at the free-throw line kept the result secure.

Key Moments

• Third-quarter explosion: Sloga's quick scoring burst turned a close game into a comfortable lead.
• Three-point shooting: Accurate perimeter shooting stretched Zemun's defense and opened driving lanes.
• Free-throw discipline: Sloga converted consistently in the closing minutes to deny any comeback.
• Bench impact: Rotational scoring gave the visitors fresh legs and sustained pressure across all four quarters.

Tactical Story

Sloga's offensive philosophy was clear: move the ball, attack the closeout and punish any defensive rotation that arrived late. Their spacing was excellent, allowing guards to penetrate and kick out to shooters. Defensively, they were content to concede some contested shots while prioritizing rebounds and transition opportunities.

Borac Zemun enjoyed bright moments, particularly when their guards broke down the first line of defense, but they were unable to string together enough stops to seriously threaten in the fourth quarter. The rebounding battle and turnover count both tilted toward the visitors, reflecting Sloga's physical edge.

Standout Performers

Sloga's leading scorers shared the load effectively, making the visitors difficult to defend as a unit. Their backcourt controlled tempo and found teammates in rhythm, while the frontcourt delivered crucial rebounds and second-chance points. Zemun's top performers kept the hosts competitive into the second half, but the supporting cast struggled to match Sloga's intensity.

Season Impact

The 99-87 victory is an important statement for Sloga in the Serbia Basketball League, showing that they can score heavily and win away from home. For Borac Zemun, the defeat highlights the need for greater defensive consistency, particularly in the third quarter. With the standings tightening, both teams will view the coming fixtures as crucial opportunities to build momentum.
