KFUM Fryshuset Use Balanced Attack to Beat Malbas 84-73

KFUM Fryshuset defeated Malbas 84-73 in Superettan Basket play on October 18, 2026, using a balanced scoring effort and a decisive second-quarter run to take control at home. The win moves Fryshuset forward in the Swedish basketball standings and hands Malbas a tough road loss.

Fryshuset’s advantage came through disciplined half-court execution, strong rebounding, and a defense that forced Malbas into difficult shots during the middle periods.

Match Overview

The opening quarter was tight, with Fryshuset holding an 18-16 lead. The game shifted in the second period when Fryshuset outscored Malbas 24-15, building a 42-31 halftime advantage. That run gave the home side control and forced Malbas to play from behind.

Malbas improved after the break and matched Fryshuset for much of the second half, but they could not close the gap. Fryshuset maintained a comfortable cushion throughout the fourth quarter and closed out the 84-73 victory.

Key Moments

The second-quarter surge was the defining stretch of the game. Fryshuset connected on three consecutive perimeter shots and added a pair of fast-break baskets, turning a one-point game into a double-digit lead.

• Fryshuset’s guards pushed the tempo after defensive rebounds, creating easy transition points.
• Malbas briefly cut the lead to eight in the third quarter, but Fryshuset answered with a 6-0 run.
• In the final five minutes, Fryshuset slowed the pace and protected the ball to deny Malbas any comeback chance.

Tactical Story

Fryshuset’s offense was built on ball movement and spacing. The home side consistently found open shooters and attacked closeouts, forcing Malbas into rotations that opened the paint. Defensively, Fryshuset limited second-chance points and contested Malbas’s three-point attempts.

Malbas had success when they played through their big men and attacked the offensive glass, but their half-court offense became stagnant in the second quarter. The visitors also struggled to contain Fryshuset’s backcourt penetration, which led to open kick-out looks.

Standout Performers

Fryshuset guard Hugo Lindberg led the team with 20 points and four assists, controlling the tempo throughout. Forward Filip Johansson added 17 points and seven rebounds, while center Oscar Nilsson finished with 14 points and 12 rebounds.

Malbas were led by guard Elias Berg with 18 points and forward Anton Sjöberg with 15 points and eight rebounds. Their efforts kept Malbas within reach, but Fryshuset’s depth and balanced scoring proved too much.

Season Impact

The victory helps KFUM Fryshuset build momentum in Superettan Basket and strengthens their position in the standings. Malbas will look to correct their second-quarter struggles and improve their road defense ahead of the next round.
