Key moments

The game turned in the closing minutes of the fourth quarter. After Troistorrents had fought back to tie the score, Helios responded with a composed 7-0 run built on a defensive stop, a transition basket, and a corner three. Troistorrents kept pressing and reduced the gap again, but Helios made six straight free throws in the final minute to protect the advantage. The hosts had one last chance to make it a one-possession game, but a contested three-point attempt rimmed out and Helios secured the rebound.

Tactical story

Helios’s win was built on balanced scoring and better shot selection. The visitors attacked the paint early, then used the threat of inside scoring to create open perimeter looks. Their guards handled Troistorrents’ pressure well for most of the night and finished with a strong assist-to-turnover ratio. Troistorrents, meanwhile, won the rebounding battle and generated second-chance points, but costly turnovers in the fourth quarter limited their chances to complete the comeback.

Defensively, Helios adjusted in the second half by closing down the baseline drive and forcing Troistorrents into contested mid-range attempts. The home side’s response was impressive, particularly during a third-quarter run that brought the crowd into the game, but Helios had the calmer execution when the contest tightened.

Standout performers and bench impact

Helios’s backcourt controlled the tempo and made several key plays in the final period, while their interior players protected the rim and contested rebounds. The bench provided valuable energy, especially in the second quarter when the visitors built their halftime lead. For Troistorrents, the leading scorers combined well in the third quarter, and their forward play around the basket caused problems, but the team could not find the same offensive fluidity in the closing minutes.

What the result means

The road win gives Helios VS Basket (W) an important early-season result in the Swiss Basketball League Women standings and confirms their ability to close out tight games. Troistorrents will take encouragement from their second-half fightback, but the narrow defeat highlights the need for better late-game execution and ball security. Both teams will now turn their attention to the next round, with Helios looking to build momentum and Troistorrents aiming to convert competitive performances into wins.
