Nyon Basket Women secured a solid 85-70 victory over Geneve Elite Basket Women in the Swiss Basketball League Women on September 27, 2026. The home side used a balanced offensive attack and a strong second-quarter push to take control, then held off every Geneve comeback attempt in the second half. The decisive stretch came midway through the second period, when Nyon connected on three consecutive three-pointers and forced Geneve into back-to-back turnovers. Geneve stayed competitive behind their half-court execution, but Nyon’s defensive rebounding limited second-chance opportunities. By the end of the third quarter, Nyon had extended the lead to 66-52 and never let the margin slip below 11 points in the final period.

Tactical Story

Nyon’s game plan centered on ball movement and spacing. They used high screens to free their guards for pull-up jumpers and kick-out threes, finishing with 19 assists. Geneve tried to switch screens and deny the three-point line, but Nyon’s quick ball reversal created open looks. On defense, Nyon packed the paint and challenged Geneve to shoot from outside. Geneve hit some tough shots but could not sustain the pace, especially when Nyon pushed the tempo after rebounds.

Standout Players

Nyon’s backcourt led the way, with their starting point guard scoring 18 points and adding seven assists. The shooting guard chipped in 16 points, including four three-pointers. Inside, Nyon’s center controlled the boards with 11 rebounds and three blocks. Geneve’s leading scorer finished with 20 points, but Nyon’s balanced attack proved too deep. The Nyon bench added 24 points, a key advantage in the final margin.

Swiss Basketball League Women Impact

The victory moves Nyon Basket Women into a stronger position in the Swiss Basketball League Women table and reinforces their credentials as a playoff contender. Geneve Elite Basket Women remain capable of competing with the league’s best, but this result highlights the need for more consistent perimeter defense. The head-to-head record now favors Nyon, and both teams will use this game as a reference point when the season progresses. Nyon will look to build on their rebounding and assist numbers, while Geneve must improve their half-court efficiency.
