Key Moments

The decisive stretch came in the second and third quarters. That surge pushed the margin back above 15, and the hosts kept rolling after the break. Zurich’s offense stalled against Fribourg’s switching defense, often settling for contested jumpers late in the shot clock.

Tactical Story

Fribourg’s victory was rooted in rebounding and ball movement. The hosts controlled the defensive glass, limited second-chance opportunities, and repeatedly turned stops into fast-break points. On offense, Fribourg used dribble penetration to collapse Zurich’s defense before kicking out to open shooters or finding cutters at the rim. Zurich, meanwhile, struggled to generate clean looks in the half court. When the visitors did break through, Fribourg answered immediately, preserving a comfortable margin throughout the fourth quarter.

Standout Players

Fribourg’s leading scorer paced a balanced attack with 18 points and five assists, while the starting center added a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds. The bench also made a clear impact, contributing timely shooting and energetic defense. For Zurich, the top scorer finished with 17 points, but the team’s offensive production fell off sharply after the first quarter.

Season Impact

The win strengthens Elfic Fribourg Women’s position in the upper half of the Swiss Basketball League Women standings and adds valuable momentum to their playoff push. For Zurich Women, the result highlights the need for more consistent execution on the road, especially against teams that defend at Fribourg’s intensity. With the season progressing, this 86-60 result could prove to be an important marker in the title race and in the battle for playoff seeding.
