The Norrkoping Dolphins made the trip to Uppsala a productive one on Tuesday night, defeating Sloga Uppsala 97-90 in a fast-paced Svenska Basketligan contest that was decided by the visitors' late-game execution. In a game featuring twelve lead changes, Norrkoping's composure in the closing four minutes proved the difference between the two sides.

Match Overview

Both teams came out firing, with Sloga using home-court energy to build an early 24-21 lead in the opening period. The Dolphins answered immediately, taking control of the second quarter and heading into the locker room with a 51-45 advantage. Uppsala refused to fade, pulling level twice in the third quarter, but Norrkoping's shot-making down the stretch sealed a hard-earned road win.

The final scoreline of 97-90 tells the story of a genuinely competitive match, with the margin never exceeding ten points after halftime.

Quarter-by-Quarter Breakdown

• Q1: Sloga Uppsala 24-21 Norrkoping Dolphins
• Q2: Sloga Uppsala 21-25 Norrkoping Dolphins (45-51 at half-time)

Key Moments

Sloga's best spell came midway through the third quarter, when a 10-2 run brought the home crowd to life and trimmed the deficit to a single basket. The Dolphins weathered the storm with a pair of clutch three-pointers, restoring a cushion that they would not surrender again.

In the final two minutes, Norrkoping went a perfect six-for-six from the free-throw line, denying Uppsala any opportunity to mount a final comeback. It was a textbook example of closing out a road game in a hostile environment.

Tactical Story

Norrkoping's offensive efficiency was the standout feature of the night. The Dolphins consistently found the open man against Sloga's switching defence, punishing mismatches in the paint and converting kick-out passes into open perimeter looks.

Uppsala, for their part, played with real attacking intent and won the rebounding battle, generating valuable second-chance points. Their defensive issues came largely in transition, where Norrkoping repeatedly beat them down the floor after long rebounds and turnovers.

Standout Performers

The Dolphins' perimeter corps were excellent, combining for the majority of the team's three-point production and controlling the pace of the game in the fourth quarter. Their point guard's decision-making in pick-and-roll situations repeatedly created high-percentage opportunities.

For Sloga Uppsala, the performance of their frontcourt was a bright spot. Their interior scoring kept the team in touch throughout, and their energy on the offensive glass gave the home side a fighting chance right until the final minute.

Season Impact

With the win, Norrkoping Dolphins strengthen their standing in the Svenska Basketligan table and continue to build momentum in what is shaping up to be a competitive race for playoff seeding. Road victories against tough opponents like Sloga are exactly the kind of results that matter when the post-season picture is calculated.

Sloga Uppsala will take encouragement from their offensive output of 90 points, but will be frustrated by a defensive night that allowed nearly a century against them. The margin between winning and losing in this league remains razor thin.
