Key Moments

The defining stretch came late in the third quarter, when Inter ripped off an 8-0 run over a two-minute span. That burst turned a one-point game into a 61-52 lead and forced Komarno into catch-up mode. Komarno refused to fold, trimming the margin to 70-68 midway through the fourth after a pair of fast-break baskets. But Inter guard Marko Špica hit a step-back three, and center David Abrhám added a put-back dunk to restore control. From there, Inter went 6-of-6 from the foul line to seal the result.

Tactical Story

Inter’s defensive flexibility was the difference. They mixed man-to-man pressure with a compact 2-3 zone that slowed Komarno’s drivers and forced contested jumpers. The visitors also controlled the glass, finishing with a 38-30 rebounding advantage, including 11 offensive boards. Komarno moved the ball well at times, but 15 turnovers and a 6-of-24 night from beyond the arc kept them chasing. Inter’s half-court offense was patient, with Špica and Abrhám operating effectively in pick-and-roll actions.

Standout Players

• Marko Špica (Inter Basket): 22 points, 6 assists, 4 rebounds, and 3 steals in a commanding backcourt performance.
• David Abrhám (Inter Basket): 14 points and 11 rebounds, anchoring the paint on both ends.
• Peter Sedmák (Komarno): 18 points and 7 rebounds, keeping the home side within striking distance.

Season Impact

The win gives Inter Basket an important early road result in the Slovenska Basketbalova Liga standings and sets a confident tone for the weeks ahead. For Komarno, the loss is a frustrating one because they were within reach late, but the performance showed enough promise to suggest they will be competitive at home. Inter’s ability to execute in the clutch will be a key storyline as the season develops, while Komarno will focus on reducing turnovers and improving their three-point consistency.
