Key moments

With the game hanging in the balance in the fourth quarter, Kosice Wolves produced the decisive run of the night. A step-back three from guard Darius Brown and an and-one finish inside from Matej Vojtek helped the visitors open a two-possession cushion. Inter Basket answered with a pair of quick baskets, but the Wolves kept their composure at the free-throw line and forced two important stops in the final two minutes.

Inter had one last chance to cut the deficit to one possession, but a contested three-pointer rimmed out, and Kosice secured the rebound before sealing the result with late free throws. The closing sequence reflected the visitors' maturity: they did not rush possessions, they protected the ball, and they made Inter work for every shot.

Tactical story

Kosice Wolves won this game with defense and second-chance points. Their 2-3 zone in the fourth quarter slowed Inter's dribble penetration and forced the hosts into several late-clock attempts. The Wolves also controlled the glass when it mattered, finishing with a 12-7 edge in offensive rebounds and turning those extra possessions into crucial points.

Inter Basket moved the ball well for long stretches and finished with a respectable shooting night, but 15 turnovers and a 12-of-17 performance from the free-throw line left points on the board. Kosice, by contrast, went 18-of-23 from the stripe and received 24 bench points, a margin that proved decisive in such a close contest.

Standout players

Darius Brown led Kosice Wolves with 24 points, six rebounds, and five assists, consistently creating offense when the game tightened. Matej Vojtek added 18 points and 11 rebounds, giving the Wolves a strong interior presence on both ends. Point guard Tomas Kral finished with nine points and seven assists, managing the tempo well in the fourth quarter.

For Inter Basket, Martin Bilik scored 22 points and grabbed seven rebounds, while Lukas Hruby contributed 17 points and eight assists. Center Peter Simko added 12 points and nine rebounds, but Inter's supporting cast struggled to match Kosice's bench production.

What the result means

The win gives Kosice Wolves an important early boost in the Slovenska Basketbalova Liga standings and confirms their ability to win tight road games. Inter Basket, meanwhile, will look back at the fourth-quarter possessions and free-throw shooting as the main areas to correct. With the season still in its early weeks, both teams remain very much in the mix, but this result is a useful marker of Kosice's composure under pressure.
