Key Moments That Decided the Game

The fourth quarter was where Hogsbo's composure showed. Borås twice reduced the gap to two points, including a stretch inside the final three minutes when a quick transition basket made it 88-86. Instead of folding, Hogsbo answered with a well-executed half-court possession, swinging the ball from side to side before knocking down a corner three-pointer.

That shot pushed the lead back to five and forced Borås to chase the game. Hogsbo then produced the defensive play of the night, drawing an offensive foul on Borås' next possession. From there, the hosts protected the ball and made enough free throws to keep Borås at arm's length. A late three-point attempt from Borås rimmed out, and Hogsbo secured the rebound to effectively seal the 96-90 result.

The closing sequence highlighted the difference between the teams on the night: Hogsbo found timely scoring from multiple positions, while Borås' comeback effort ran out of steam in the final minute.

Tactical Story of the Match

Hogsbo's offense was built on patient ball movement and aggressive drives into the paint. The hosts consistently attacked the basket early in possessions, forcing Borås' defense to collapse and creating open looks on the perimeter. That inside-out approach helped Hogsbo shoot efficiently and kept Borås from settling into a comfortable defensive rhythm.

Borås, meanwhile, leaned on its three-point shooting and transition game. When the visitors pushed the pace after defensive rebounds, they looked dangerous, cutting into the lead with quick baskets before Hogsbo's half-court defense could set up. Borås hit several contested threes in the third quarter, which sparked their run and made the final period a nervy affair for the home crowd.

The rebounding battle was also crucial. Hogsbo managed to limit second-chance opportunities in the fourth quarter, an area that had troubled them earlier in the game. Borås' frontcourt worked hard on the offensive glass, but Hogsbo's guards did a better job of boxing out and starting the fast break when it mattered most.

Free-throw shooting proved to be another separator. Hogsbo got to the line more often in the closing minutes and converted enough attempts to keep the scoreboard moving, while Borås was forced to play a more perimeter-oriented game as time ran down.

Standout Performers

Hogsbo's backcourt set the tone throughout the night. The starting point guard controlled the tempo, finished with a team-high scoring night, and delivered several key assists in the fourth quarter. His ability to break down Borås' defense off the dribble created open shots for teammates and helped Hogsbo answer every Borås run.

Up front, Hogsbo's power forward delivered a strong two-way performance, scoring in double figures and pulling down crucial rebounds on both ends. His physical presence around the rim gave Hogsbo a reliable interior option and helped them match Borås' size.
