Neftyanik Omsk Women defeated Energy Ivanovo Women 76-70 in the Russia Women's Cup, using a strong second half and a poised closing stretch to secure a six-point win in a competitive cup tie.
Match overview
Energy Ivanovo made a bright start and kept the game close through the opening periods, but Neftyanik Omsk gradually found their rhythm. The hosts' offense began to click in the middle quarters, with better ball movement and more aggressive attacks on the basket. Energy Ivanovo remained dangerous from the perimeter and kept the margin manageable, but Neftyanik's ability to score inside and get to the free-throw line gave them a slight but persistent edge.
The fourth quarter was tense, with Energy cutting into the lead and threatening to make it a one-possession game. Neftyanik, however, responded with a composed run of their own, converting key baskets and free throws to keep their opponents at arm's length.
Key moments

- Late stops: A pair of defensive stands in the final minutes denied Energy Ivanovo a chance to close the gap.

Tactical story
Neftyanik Omsk's win was built on balance and inside-outside scoring. They attacked the paint effectively and used offensive rebounds to create extra possessions. Energy Ivanovo competed well and kept the game within reach, but Neftyanik's ability to generate high-percentage shots in key moments was the difference.
