MBA Moscow Women produced the most one-sided result of the night in the Russia Women's Cup, overwhelming Metallurg Magnitogorsk Women 104-51 on 29 October 2026. The 53-point margin was built on a relentless first half in which the hosts scored 58 points while conceding just 24, effectively ending the tie before the interval.

Match Overview

MBA Moscow entered the fixture as one of the strongest sides in the competition and demonstrated exactly why, playing with pace, precision and defensive ferocity from the opening tip. Metallurg Magnitogorsk Women were simply overwhelmed — their offence never settled, and turnovers early in possessions handed the hosts a stream of easy transition baskets.

By half-time the scoreline read 58-24, and the only remaining question was the final margin. MBA did not relent after the break, reaching the century mark in the fourth quarter in a performance that will serve notice to the rest of the competition.

Key Moments

• First quarter: MBA opened with a 17-2 run in the first five minutes, pressing full court and converting steals into layups.
• Second quarter: The lead passed 30 as MBA's three-point shooting caught fire; Metallurg had no counter.
• Third quarter: MBA's starters were gradually withdrawn, but the intensity did not drop — the bench extended the advantage further.
• Fourth quarter: A 30-point final period took MBA past 100, a milestone rarely reached in the competition.

Tactical Story

The entire game was shaped by MBA's full-court pressure. Metallurg's guards struggled to advance the ball cleanly, and even when they broke the press, the shot clock was already against them. MBA's help defence behind the press was equally impressive, closing driving lanes and forcing contested jumpers.

Offensively, MBA played unselfishly, with quick ball reversals creating open perimeter looks. Their rebounding dominance at the offensive end generated a steady supply of second-chance points, and their transition game turned defensive stops into points within seconds.

Standout Performers

MBA's backcourt was outstanding, with the starting guards combining to control tempo, apply pressure and score efficiently. The forwards dominated the glass at both ends, and the bench — given extended minutes in the second half — contributed significantly to the century total. It was a genuinely complete squad performance.

For Metallurg Magnitogorsk Women, the night was a chastening one. Their best moments came in the third quarter, when a brief run of baskets cut into the deficit, but the turnovers and rebounding struggles that defined the first half returned quickly.

What It Means

MBA Moscow Women advance as one of the tournament favourites, with a points differential that underlines their credentials. A 104-point performance in cup basketball is a statement, and the defensive numbers — 51 conceded — are arguably even more impressive.

Metallurg Magnitogorsk Women exit the Russia Women's Cup after a difficult evening, but the experience against one of the country's elite programmes offers a clear benchmark for the squad's development.
