Zadar struggled to handle Sibenik's defensive intensity, and the final margin reflected the visitors' superiority over four quarters.

Match Overview

Sibenik set the tone with a strong first-quarter run and maintained a double-digit advantage for most of the game. Zadar had brief bright moments on offense, but they were unable to string together enough stops to mount a serious comeback. The quarter scoring showed Sibenik's consistent control:

• First quarter: Zadar Women 16, Jolly JBS Sibenik 26
• Second quarter: Zadar Women 18, Jolly JBS Sibenik 22
• Third quarter: Zadar Women 17, Jolly JBS Sibenik 23

Key Moments

The opening minutes set the direction of the contest. Sibenik started with a 12-2 run, forcing Zadar into early turnovers and rushed shots. Zadar stabilized briefly in the second quarter, but Sibenik closed the first half with a 7-0 surge to restore a comfortable cushion. In the fourth quarter, another quick run ended any slim hopes of a Zadar comeback, allowing Sibenik to manage the final minutes with composure.

Tactical Story

Sibenik's defensive pressure was the story of the game. They denied easy entry passes, forced turnovers, and turned those mistakes into fast-break points. On offense, Sibenik moved the ball well and attacked the basket with purpose, drawing fouls and creating open perimeter looks. Zadar tried to slow the pace in the half-court, but they struggled against Sibenik's length and activity. Rebounding also favored the visitors, limiting Zadar's second-chance opportunities.

Standout Performers

Sibenik's backcourt controlled the game on both ends, applying pressure defensively and pushing the tempo offensively. Their forwards ran the floor well and finished consistently around the rim. Zadar received solid efforts from their interior players, who battled on the boards, but the team's guards were often overwhelmed by Sibenik's defensive intensity. Zadar's best stretches came when they slowed the game and executed in the half-court, but those moments were too infrequent.

Season Impact

The victory strengthens Jolly JBS Sibenik's position in the Prva ženska liga standings and underlines their credentials as a team to watch. For Zadar Women, the loss provides clear areas for improvement, particularly ball security and transition defense. Both teams will take important lessons from the matchup as they continue their domestic campaigns.
