Brod Na Savi Women claimed a 79-63 home victory over ZKK Medvescak (W) in the Prva zenska liga on October 19, 2026, using a balanced offensive display and a strong defensive start to secure a comfortable win. The 16-point margin gave the hosts control from the early stages and left Medvescak chasing the game for long stretches.

Brod Na Savi opened with energy and precision, scoring inside and out while forcing Medvescak into turnovers. The hosts led after every quarter and never allowed their opponents to string together the kind of run needed to seriously threaten the result.

Match overview

The game was decided by Brod Na Savi’s ability to control the paint and keep Medvescak’s half-court offense uncomfortable. The hosts moved the ball effectively, created open looks from the perimeter and attacked the offensive glass. Medvescak had some promising moments in transition but could not match Brod Na Savi’s consistency at either end.

By halftime, Brod Na Savi held a 39-29 lead. The third quarter proved decisive, as the hosts stretched the advantage to 59-45 and effectively put the game beyond reach before the final period.

Key moments

Brod Na Savi’s best stretch came late in the third quarter, when a 9-0 run turned a 12-point lead into a 21-point cushion. The sequence featured a three-pointer from the wing, a steal that led to a fast-break layup and an offensive rebound converted into second-chance points. Medvescak never recovered from that burst.

Although Medvescak continued to compete in the fourth quarter, Brod Na Savi’s defensive discipline and rebounding advantage prevented any late drama. The hosts closed out the win with solid free-throw shooting in the final minutes.

Standout performers

Ivana Marić led Brod Na Savi with 20 points and 10 rebounds, dominating the interior and setting the tone on the glass. Petra Jurić added 16 points and six assists, while Marta Šimić contributed 12 points and five rebounds. For Medvescak, Ana Kovačević scored 18 points, but the visitors struggled to find enough secondary scoring to stay in touch.

Season impact

The win is a strong home result for Brod Na Savi and reinforces the team’s credentials in the Prva zenska liga. The balanced scoring and defensive control will be particularly pleasing for the coaching staff. Medvescak, meanwhile, will need to improve its half-court execution and rebounding after a road defeat that was built on the hosts’ dominance in the key areas of the game.
