Neustadt delivered one of the most emphatic road performances of the 2. Basketball Bundesliga ProB season on October 17, 2026, defeating Basketball Braunschweig 105-78. The final score flattered neither side: Neustadt controlled the game from the opening minutes, built a double-digit halftime lead, and then broke the contest open with a dominant third quarter. For Braunschweig, it was a difficult home night defined by cold shooting, turnovers, and an inability to slow Neustadt’s balanced attack.

The visitors set the tone early with aggressive perimeter defense and quick ball movement, while Braunschweig struggled to find rhythm in the half court. Key Moments That Decided the Game

Braunschweig responded in the second quarter, trimming the deficit to 34-31 after a quick burst of scoring, but Neustadt closed the half with a 17-6 run to restore control. The decisive stretch came early in the third quarter, when Neustadt ripped off a 14-2 run that pushed the lead past 20 points and silenced the home crowd.

Every time Braunschweig threatened to build momentum, Neustadt answered with a timely three-pointer or a transition basket. The visitors’ ability to score in bunches was the defining feature of the night, and Braunschweig simply had no counter.

Standout Players

Neustadt’s backcourt was the engine of the victory. Malik Carter led all scorers with 28 points, adding 7 rebounds and 6 assists, while Timo Schneider poured in 21 points and consistently knocked down shots when Braunschweig tried to close the gap. Leon Bauer was a force inside with 16 points and 9 rebounds, and Erik Neumann orchestrated the offense with 14 points and 10 assists.

For Basketball Braunschweig, Jonas Weber fought hard with 18 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists. Lukas Hartmann added 14 points and 8 rebounds, while Niklas Krüger chipped in 12 points and 5 assists. David Sommer reached double figures with 10 points, but Braunschweig’s supporting cast could not match Neustadt’s depth or efficiency.

Tactical Story

Neustadt’s game plan was clear: pressure the ball, force turnovers, and attack in transition. That approach worked to perfection. They forced 17 Braunschweig turnovers and converted many of them into easy points, finishing with a 20-8 advantage in fast-break scoring. Neustadt also dominated the paint, outscoring Braunschweig 48-32 inside, and their ball movement produced 24 assists on 38 made field goals.

Braunschweig, by contrast, labored offensively. They shot just 41% from the field and 7-of-26 from three-point range, often settling for contested jumpers. Defensively, they struggled to contain Neustadt’s pick-and-roll action, which repeatedly created open lanes and kick-out opportunities. Neustadt shot 51% from the floor, 12-of-28 from beyond the arc, and 21-of-24 from the free-throw line — a complete offensive performance.
