Koblenz made one final push midway through the fourth quarter, cutting the lead to 72-66 after back-to-back three-pointers. From there, the hosts controlled the tempo and closed out the win at the charity stripe.

Tactical Story

Nurnberger focused on attacking the paint and kicking out to shooters when Koblenz collapsed. That inside-out approach produced a balanced scoring line and kept Koblenz’s defense guessing. Defensively, Nurnberger switched aggressively on screens and limited Koblenz’s catch-and-shoot opportunities from the perimeter.

Koblenz found success when they pushed the pace in the first half, but Nurnberger slowed the game down after halftime. The visitors struggled against Nurnberger’s half-court defense, often settling for contested jumpers. On the glass, Nurnberger held a slight edge, including several key offensive rebounds that led to second-chance points.

Standout Players

Nurnberger had four players score in double figures, a testament to their balanced attack. Their point guard finished with 18 points and eight assists, controlling the pace and making key plays in the third-quarter run. The power forward added 16 points and 11 rebounds, dominating the interior on both ends.

For Baskets Koblenz, the shooting guard led the team with 20 points, including four three-pointers. The center contributed 14 points and eight rebounds, but foul trouble limited his minutes in the second half. Koblenz’s bench provided a spark in the second quarter, yet the team could not sustain that energy after the break.

Season Impact

Nurnberger’s win improves their standing in the 2. Basketball Bundesliga ProA and reinforces their home-court advantage. If they continue to share the ball and defend at this level, they will be a tough opponent throughout the season. Baskets Koblenz will look to correct their third-quarter issues and improve their road form. The loss is a missed opportunity, but the ProA season is long, and Koblenz showed enough in the first half to suggest they can bounce back.
