Kirchheim Outlast ETB Miners 103-99 in High-Scoring ProA Contest

Kirchheim claimed a 103-99 road win over ETB Miners in Germany’s 2.Basketball Bundesliga ProA, winning a fast-paced contest that came down to late-shot execution and free-throw discipline. The game featured 202 combined points, constant lead changes, and a finish that kept both benches on edge until the final possession.

ETB Miners produced plenty of offense and stayed within reach throughout, but Kirchheim’s ability to answer every run proved decisive. The four-point margin was a fair reflection of a game in which neither team could sustain a comfortable lead for long.

Match Overview

The first half set the tone for an open, attacking game. Kirchheim edged the opening quarter, ETB responded with a stronger second period, and the teams went into halftime separated by a single point. The third quarter brought more of the same, with both sides trading baskets and neither defense able to fully control the other’s primary options.

• First quarter: Kirchheim 27-24
• Second quarter: ETB 25-23
• Halftime: Kirchheim 50-49
• Third quarter: ETB 26-25
• Final: Kirchheim 103-99

With the game level entering the fourth, it became a test of shot selection and composure. Kirchheim found cleaner looks down the stretch, while ETB Miners were forced into a few contested attempts as the clock became a factor.

Key Moments

The decisive stretch arrived in the final minutes, when Kirchheim put together a compact scoring run and then protected the lead at the free-throw line. ETB had chances to tie or take the lead, but a couple of missed threes and an untimely turnover disrupted their rhythm.

Kirchheim’s late-game decision-making stood out. Rather than rushing shots, the visitors worked the ball into favorable matchups and attacked when the defense overcommitted. That patience allowed them to keep ETB at bay even as the hosts pushed the pace in search of a comeback.

Tactical Story

Both teams prioritized tempo, which turned the game into a possession-heavy shootout. ETB Miners looked dangerous when they attacked early in the shot clock and used their athleticism to create paint touches. Kirchheim, however, matched that energy and often answered with quick ball movement that stretched the defense.

The difference came at the margins: Kirchheim shot better in key moments, committed fewer costly turnovers late, and did a better job of finishing defensive possessions. ETB’s rebounding effort kept them in the game, but Kirchheim’s execution under pressure was the separating factor.

Standout Performers

Kirchheim’s perimeter players carried much of the scoring load, hitting important shots both in transition and against the half-court defense. Their ability to create off the dribble forced ETB to rotate, opening up driving lanes and second-chance opportunities.

ETB Miners received strong production from their inside game and had several players contribute in double figures. The hosts’ offensive balance was impressive, but they needed one more defensive stop in the closing minutes and could not find it.

What the Result Means

The win gives Kirchheim a valuable road result in the ProA standings and reinforces their ability to win close, high-scoring games. In a league where point differential and road form can matter deeply, this performance is a strong statement.

For ETB Miners, the loss is frustrating but not damaging to the team’s overall trajectory. The offense functioned well enough to win; the focus now shifts to late-game defense and limiting the small mistakes that decide tight contests.
