Juvemaia Women produced one of the more convincing road performances of their Portuguese Div 3 campaign, defeating GUIFÕES S.C. Women 73-56 in a game they controlled from the second quarter onward. The 17-point margin reflects a mature, well-balanced display from the visitors, who combined solid interior play with efficient perimeter shooting to pull clear of a Guifões side that struggled to find consistent scoring rhythm.

Match Overview: GUIFÕES S.C. Women vs Juvemaia Women

Contested on 25 October 2026 in Portugal's third tier of women's basketball, the fixture set up an interesting contrast between a home team looking to use familiar surroundings and crowd support, and a Juvemaia outfit built around structure and defensive pressure. Early on, the two teams traded baskets in a scrappy opening quarter, with neither able to establish a significant advantage.

That changed quickly. Juvemaia's defensive adjustments — tighter help on drives and more assertive rebounding — forced Guifões into rushed shots, and the visitors capitalised with a series of transition baskets that broke the game open before half-time.

How the Game Was Won

The defining theme of the night was Juvemaia's control of the defensive glass. By limiting second-chance points, they forced GUIFÕES S.C. Women to score against a set defense, which proved difficult for the home side throughout the middle quarters. Offensively, Juvemaia spread the scoring load effectively, with contributions from the backcourt and the post creating a balanced attack that Guifões could not key in on.

Guifões' best periods came when they pushed the pace and attacked early in the shot clock, but those moments were too infrequent. A scoring drought stretching across parts of the second and third quarters allowed Juvemaia to build a cushion that never seriously came under threat in the final ten minutes.

Key Moments

• Second-quarter break: Juvemaia turned a tight game into a double-digit lead with a run driven by defensive stops and fast-break points.
• Third-quarter control: The visitors maintained their advantage by slowing the tempo and working the ball inside for high-percentage looks.
• Fourth-quarter composure: Guifões pushed for a comeback, but Juvemaia's free-throw shooting and rebounding closed the door.

Standout Performers

Juvemaia's scoring balance was their greatest strength — no single player needed to carry the load, and the team's assist numbers reflected genuine ball movement. Their defensive anchors did the quieter work, contesting shots and cleaning up the glass to deny Guifões momentum.

For GUIFÕES S.C. Women, the effort was there but the execution wavered. Their leading scorers produced in patches, and the team's intensity on the defensive end created some turnovers, yet the shooting percentage and rebounding differential ultimately told the story of the night.

Season Impact and What's Next

The win gives Juvemaia Women important momentum in the Portuguese Div 3 (W) table, reinforcing their credentials as a team capable of winning on the road against organised opposition. For Guifões, the defeat highlights areas to address — particularly half-court offense and defensive rebounding — as they look to climb the standings.

Both teams now turn their attention to the next round of fixtures, with Juvemaia aiming to build on a performance that showcased their depth, and GUIFÕES S.C. Women seeking a response built on better shot selection and sustained intensity across four quarters.
