CD Campinho power past Vitoria SC 81-45 in Portugal Nacional 2A Cup

CD Campinho produced a dominant road performance in the Portugal Nacional 2A Cup, defeating Vitoria SC 81-45. The visitors controlled the game from the first quarter, overwhelmed Vitoria with defensive pressure and steadily built a lead that never looked under threat.

The 36-point margin was built on balanced scoring, strong rebounding and a defensive effort that limited Vitoria SC’s best offensive options. In cup basketball, momentum can shift quickly, but Campinho never allowed the hosts to settle, turning a promising start into a commanding victory.

Match overview

CD Campinho opened with a 22-12 first quarter, immediately putting Vitoria SC on the back foot. The second period was even more emphatic, as the visitors held Vitoria to 11 points while adding 20 of their own. By halftime, Campinho had established a cushion that allowed them to play with freedom in the second half.

The third quarter continued the pattern, with Campinho outscoring Vitoria 19-10. The final period was played with the outcome already clear, but Campinho maintained their discipline and closed out the cup tie with a convincing 81-45 win. Vitoria’s late efforts could not undo the damage of a difficult middle stretch.

How Campinho controlled the cup tie

Campinho’s defense was the story of the game. They pressured the ball, rotated well and forced Vitoria into contested shots. When the hosts tried to attack inside, Campinho’s help defense arrived quickly, and their rebounding limited second-chance opportunities.

Offensively, Campinho were patient and efficient. They moved the ball until they found the open man, attacked closeouts and scored in transition when Vitoria’s possessions broke down. The visitors also received production from their bench, which helped them maintain intensity even as the lead grew.

Vitoria SC’s difficult night

Vitoria SC had few answers once Campinho took control. The hosts struggled with turnovers, missed some open looks and were unable to string together enough defensive stops to build momentum. Cup games can be unforgiving when a team falls behind early, and Vitoria found it difficult to recover against an opponent that kept executing at both ends.

The result ends Vitoria’s hopes in this cup fixture and leaves them to focus on their next challenges. CD Campinho, meanwhile, advance with confidence and will take plenty from a road win in which they controlled nearly every phase of the game.
