PBG Basket Poznan secured a 90-84 road win over Kotwica Kolobrzeg in Poland 1st Division play, closing out a competitive contest with timely baskets and free throws in the final minutes. The six-point final scoreline tells the story of a game that remained within reach for the hosts deep into the fourth quarter, but Poznan’s composure on both ends proved decisive.

Match overview

Kotwica Kolobrzeg and PBG Basket Poznan traded momentum for much of the night, with neither side able to build a truly comfortable cushion until the closing stretch. The visitors finished with 90 points, a strong offensive return on the road, while Kolobrzeg’s 84-point effort kept the home crowd engaged until the final possessions. Poznan’s ability to convert late opportunities and avoid empty trips proved to be the difference in a game separated by small margins.

Key moments

• Poznan’s perimeter shooting helped them keep pace early, preventing Kolobrzeg from turning home energy into a double-digit lead.
• In the second half, the visitors found a more consistent rhythm through ball movement and second-chance opportunities.
• Kotwica made a late push to cut the deficit to a single possession, but Poznan answered with composed execution at the free-throw line and a crucial defensive stop.

Tactical story

The matchup hinged on pace and shot selection. Kolobrzeg looked to attack inside and draw fouls, while PBG Basket Poznan preferred a more balanced approach, mixing drives with kick-out attempts from beyond the arc. Poznan’s defensive rotations improved as the game wore on, and their ability to limit clean looks in the final quarter gave the road side just enough separation. Kolobrzeg’s rebounding kept them alive, but a handful of untimely turnovers and missed free throws undermined the comeback effort.

Standout performers

Poznan received a balanced scoring contribution, with their backcourt controlling tempo and making key decisions in crunch time. The visiting frontcourt also did important work on the glass, extending possessions and forcing Kolobrzeg to defend for longer stretches. For the hosts, the inside scoring and energy on the offensive boards stood out, but Kolobrzeg needed a little more production from the perimeter to complete the rally.

Standings impact

The road victory gives PBG Basket Poznan a valuable result in the Poland 1st Division standings, particularly because away wins in a tight league can shape the season’s momentum. For Kotwica Kolobrzeg, the 84-90 defeat is a frustrating one, but the competitive nature of the performance suggests the side can remain dangerous at home. Both teams will now turn their attention to the next fixture, with Poznan looking to build on a strong closing effort and Kolobrzeg focused on tightening late-game execution.
