A high-scoring night in the Poland 1st Division ended with Gimbasket Wroclaw claiming a convincing 97-83 win over Decka Pelplin Basketball on 3 October 2026. The Wroclaw side's offensive efficiency and willingness to run the floor produced a season-best style performance, with the margin rarely in doubt once the hosts found their rhythm in the second period.

Match Overview

• Final score: Gimbasket Wroclaw 97 – 83 Decka Pelplin Basketball
• Competition: Poland 1st Division
• Date: 3 October 2026
• Key trend: Wroclaw's 97 points reflected excellent shooting balance inside and out

The contest was never a defensive struggle. Both teams committed to an up-tempo approach, but Gimbasket Wroclaw controlled the key statistical battlegrounds: rebounding, turnovers and free-throw volume. Those three areas, rather than any single spectacular individual burst, produced the final 14-point cushion.

How the Game Unfolded

The opening quarter was closely fought, with Decka Pelplin scoring well from the perimeter and keeping the deficit to a single possession for long stretches. Wroclaw's response was methodical rather than explosive: better shot selection, more aggressive drives into the paint, and a noticeable increase in second-chance opportunities through offensive rebounding.

That pressure told in the middle two quarters. Wroclaw assembled the decisive run of the game before the final break, converting defensive stops into fast-break points and forcing Pelplin into hurried attempts at the other end. Once the lead reached double figures, the visitors struggled to manufacture the consecutive baskets required to reverse the momentum.

Tactical Story

Gimbasket Wroclaw's game plan relied on depth and pace. Rotating players freely kept energy levels high, and the bench contributed meaningfully on both ends, preventing the kind of scoring droughts that have plagued Wroclaw sides in tighter games. The hosts also drew fouls consistently, reaching the free-throw line with regularity and keeping the clock stopped in their favour late on.

Decka Pelplin's offence was at its best when the ball moved quickly side to side and shooters attacked closeouts instead of settling. When the ball stuck, Wroclaw's half-court defence loaded up and the possessions ended in low-percentage shots. That contrast defined the evening.

Standout Performers

Wroclaw's win was a collective effort. Perimeter creators set the tone early, big men finished efficiently around the basket, and the rotation maintained defensive intensity even as the bench emptied. Producing 97 points with that level of balance is a strong sign for a team aiming to climb the Poland 1st Division table.

For Pelplin, there were positives to take despite the loss. Their shooting kept them competitive into the second half, and their willingness to push the ball in transition created several highlight possessions. Turning those spells into sustained runs is the next step.

What It Means for the Season

For Gimbasket Wroclaw, this is the kind of home result that builds momentum in a crowded league table. Offensive performances in the high 90s raise confidence, particularly when they come with a comfortable defensive margin in the closing quarter. Consistency on the road will now determine how far up the standings they can climb.

Decka Pelplin Basketball leave with a defeat but with clear areas to refine: limiting opponent second-chance points and managing late-game shot quality. In a division where home teams frequently dominate, correcting those details can quickly turn narrow losses into wins.

Looking ahead: both sides continue their Poland 1st Division campaigns with the table still fluid, making each upcoming fixture an opportunity to gain ground on direct rivals in the race for playoff positioning.
