Key moments

The decisive stretch came midway through the fourth quarter. With the score tied at 74-74, Dabrowa Gornicza produced a 7-0 run sparked by a corner three and a fast-break layup after a Torun turnover. Torun answered with back-to-back baskets to make it a one-possession game, but the home side’s composure at the charity stripe proved decisive.

Torun had one last chance to tie in the final 20 seconds, but a contested three-pointer rimmed out. Dabrowa secured the rebound and sealed the game with two free throws.

Tactical story

Dabrowa Gornicza’s half-court offense leaned heavily on high pick-and-roll actions, forcing Torun’s big men to step out and defend. That created driving lanes for the guards and opened up weak-side shooters. Defensively, Dabrowa mixed man-to-man with a compact zone that disrupted Torun’s rhythm in the paint during the third quarter.

Siden Torun stayed in the game by winning the offensive rebounding battle and generating second-chance points. However, costly turnovers in the fourth quarter and a cold shooting spell from beyond the arc prevented the visitors from completing the comeback.

Standout players

Mateusz Krawczyk led Dabrowa Gornicza with 22 points, including four three-pointers, while Jakub Zieliński added 17 points and six assists. Tomasz Nowak chipped in 14 points and nine rebounds, giving the hosts a balanced scoring attack.

For Siden Torun, Adam Wiśniewski was the top scorer with 24 points, and Michał Grabowski contributed 15 points and eight rebounds. Despite their efforts, Torun’s bench was outscored by a significant margin, which proved costly in a tight game.

What the result means

The win lifts Dabrowa Gornicza into a more comfortable position in the early Polska Liga Koszykowki standings and gives the team momentum ahead of a difficult road stretch. For Siden Torun, the loss is a frustrating one, but the competitive performance against a solid home side suggests the team can remain in the playoff conversation if it tightens up its late-game execution.
