DLSU began to assert control after halftime. The Green Archers increased their defensive pressure, forced turnovers, and turned those mistakes into easy baskets. UE continued to fight, but DLSU’s depth and rebounding began to wear down the Red Warriors.

In the fourth quarter, UE made one final push behind aggressive drives and offensive rebounds. The Red Warriors cut into the lead, but DLSU stayed composed, converted key free throws, and made enough defensive plays to close out the 97-88 win.

Tactical Story

DLSU’s success came from defensive activity and pace. The Green Archers used their length to disrupt passing lanes and challenged UE’s ball handlers full court. Offensively, they shared the ball well and attacked mismatches whenever UE switched screens.

UE’s best moments came when they played inside-out. Their big men competed on the boards, and their guards attacked the rim with purpose. However, turnovers and missed opportunities in transition prevented UE from sustaining momentum during DLSU’s decisive run.

Standout Performers

DLSU’s guards controlled the game with timely scoring and playmaking. Their ability to push the pace created easy looks for teammates, while the frontcourt provided energy on the glass. The Green Archers’ bench also made an impact, helping maintain defensive intensity in the second half.

For UE, the Red Warriors received strong contributions from their interior players and wings. They competed hard until the end, but the team will need to reduce turnovers and improve late-game execution in future UAAP matchups.

Season Impact

This 97-88 victory is an important result for DLSU Green Archers in the UAAP standings. It strengthens their position in the Final Four race and reinforces their ability to win with defense and depth. For UE Red Warriors, the loss is a learning moment in a competitive season.

As the UAAP tournament continues, DLSU will aim to maintain their defensive pressure and balanced scoring. UE will focus on protecting the ball and finding more consistency on both ends. Both teams remain part of the larger battle for position in the standings.
