FEU Tamaraws Take Down ADU Falcons 73-66 in UAAP Battle

FEU Tamaraws earned a 73-66 victory over the ADU Falcons in Philippines University Athletic Association basketball on October 28, 2026, using a decisive third-quarter run to take control and then holding off a late Adamson charge. The seven-point margin was built on defensive stops and timely shot-making from the Tamaraws’ backcourt.

Match Overview

The first half was evenly contested, with ADU Falcons feeding off their home crowd and attacking the basket with energy. FEU stayed patient, moving the ball inside-out and keeping the game tied at 33-33 heading into halftime. The Tamaraws flipped the script after the break, opening the third quarter with a 14-4 run that forced Adamson into catch-up mode. The Falcons trimmed the deficit to four in the fourth, but FEU answered with a clutch three and two defensive stops to secure the win.

Key Moments

• FEU’s 14-4 run to start the third quarter created the game’s biggest lead.
• ADU cut the deficit to 66-62 with three minutes left before FEU responded.
• A corner three from FEU’s Miguel Torres pushed the lead back to seven.
• Adamson missed two free throws with under a minute remaining.

Standout Performers

Miguel Torres led FEU with 20 points and five rebounds, hitting several tough shots in the second half. Carlo Mendoza added 16 points and seven assists, controlling the pace and finding open shooters. For ADU Falcons, Alfonso Cruz scored 18 points and grabbed nine rebounds, while point guard Ryan Lim contributed 13 points. Adamson’s late turnovers, however, undermined an otherwise competitive performance.

Tactical Story

FEU’s third-quarter adjustment on defense proved decisive. The Tamaraws switched more aggressively on ball screens and denied Adamson’s guards clean driving angles. Offensively, FEU targeted the corners and punished Adamson’s help defense with quick ball reversals. The Falcons stayed within reach by crashing the offensive glass, but FEU’s half-court discipline and late free-throw shooting sealed the result.

Standings Impact

The win strengthens FEU’s credentials in the UAAP playoff race and gives the Tamaraws another quality result away from home. ADU Falcons remain competitive but will rue missed opportunities in the final minutes. With the season tightening, both teams will focus on consistency and late-game execution as they chase crucial positioning in the standings.
