Key moments

Rizal Xentro Mall Golden Coolers cut the deficit to 58-53 midway through the third quarter, but Biñan Tatak Gel responded with an 8-0 run that restored control. The run featured a put-back basket, a transition layup and a contested three-pointer from the wing. From there, Biñan’s defense tightened and Rizal was forced into several low-percentage shots.

The fourth quarter followed a similar pattern. Rizal tried to speed the game up, but Biñan handled the pressure and made enough free throws to keep the lead comfortable. Biñan’s bench also provided a spark, with second-unit players contributing timely rebounds and defensive stops that prevented Rizal from building momentum.

Standout performers

Biñan Tatak Gel guard Kyle Nolasco led the team with 20 points and five assists, consistently finding seams in Rizal’s defense. Big man Jayson Rivera dominated the interior with 16 points and 13 rebounds, while Paul Adrian added 14 points and four steals. Biñan’s frontcourt advantage was clear throughout, especially on the offensive glass.

For Rizal Xentro Mall Golden Coolers, Mark delos Santos scored 18 points and grabbed seven rebounds. Renz Alvarado added 12 points, but Rizal struggled to generate consistent offense in the second half. The home side shot poorly from three-point range and had no answer for Biñan’s size inside.

Tactical story

Biñan Tatak Gel built the win on defense and rebounding. The visitors collapsed into the paint whenever Rizal drove, forcing kick-out passes and contested jumpers. On offense, Biñan repeatedly attacked the basket through Rivera and Nolasco, generating fouls and second-chance opportunities. Rizal’s inability to control the defensive glass proved costly, particularly in the third quarter when Biñan extended its lead.

What the result means

The win strengthens Biñan Tatak Gel’s position in the MPBL standings and highlights their ability to win on the road with defense and physicality. Rizal Xentro Mall Golden Coolers remain competitive but need to improve their rebounding and half-court execution. With the season continuing, Biñan will look to maintain the same intensity, while Rizal will search for a response in their next outing.
