Telsiai dominate Vilkaviskio Perlas in 94-70 NKL home win

Telsiai produced a commanding 94-70 victory over Vilkaviskio Perlas in the Nacionaline Krepsinio Lyga on October 17, 2026, controlling the game from the opening minutes. The home side’s defensive pressure and rebounding dominance turned a promising start into a comfortable win.

Telsiai led 28-16 after the first quarter and never allowed Vilkaviskio Perlas to recover. By halftime the advantage had grown to 50-34, and a strong third quarter removed any doubt about the outcome.

Match overview

The quarter scores reflected Telsiai’s control: 28-16, 22-18, 25-17 and 19-19. The hosts were superior in nearly every statistical category, winning the rebounding battle, scoring efficiently in the paint and generating transition opportunities off turnovers.

Vilkaviskio Perlas had no answer for Telsiai’s physicality. The visitors were forced into difficult shots and struggled to keep Telsiai off the offensive glass. When Perlas did score, Telsiai often answered quickly, preventing any sustained momentum.

Key moments

Telsiai set the tone with a 15-2 run early in the first quarter, turning a close opening into a double-digit lead. The run featured aggressive drives, offensive rebounds and a pair of three-pointers that forced Vilkaviskio Perlas into an early timeout.

The decisive stretch came at the start of the third quarter. Leading 50-34, Telsiai opened the second half with a 12-3 burst, pushing the margin beyond 20 points. From there, the home side managed the game comfortably and gave its bench extended minutes.

Tactical story

Telsiai’s game plan was built on defense and rebounding. They pressured Vilkaviskio Perlas’ ball handlers, forced turnovers and converted those mistakes into fast-break points. On the boards, Telsiai’s frontcourt controlled both ends, limiting second-chance opportunities for the visitors while creating extra possessions for themselves.

Offensively, Telsiai shared the ball well and attacked the rim with purpose. Their ball movement produced open corner threes and cutbacks, and their size inside made them difficult to defend without fouling. Vilkaviskio Perlas, by contrast, settled for too many contested jumpers and had little success attacking the paint.

Standout performers

Telsiai’s balanced scoring was one of the most encouraging aspects of the win. Their leading scorer finished with 18 points, while a starting center added 14 points and 12 rebounds. The bench also contributed meaningful minutes, helping Telsiai maintain its intensity even after the game was decided.

Vilkaviskio Perlas’ top scorer managed 16 points but needed a high volume of shots. The visitors’ lack of inside scoring and their turnovers made it difficult to build any rhythm, and their defense could not contain Telsiai’s dribble penetration.

Season impact

The win is a strong statement for Telsiai in the Nacionaline Krepsinio Lyga standings, especially because it came at home and featured contributions across the roster. For Vilkaviskio Perlas, the loss highlights the need for better ball security and defensive rebounding. Telsiai will look to carry the same energy into their next fixture, while Perlas must regroup quickly.
