Telsiai produced a composed road performance to edge Suduva Mantinga 71-69 in the Nacionalinė Krepšinio Lyga on October 24, 2026. In a game that was close from start to finish, the visitors made the bigger plays in the final minutes and left with a two-point win that could prove valuable in the race for playoff position.

Match overview

Suduva Mantinga opened with an 18-16 first-quarter lead, but Telsiai responded to take a 34-33 advantage into halftime. The third quarter was another tight battle, with Suduva edging it 20-19 to level the game at 53-53 heading into the final period. Telsiai then finished with an 18-16 fourth quarter, enough to secure the 71-69 victory.

The scoreline reflected the nature of the contest: neither team allowed the other to pull away for long. Suduva’s home crowd stayed engaged as the lead changed hands, but Telsiai’s late-game execution and defensive discipline ultimately made the difference.

Key moments

The final two minutes were the turning point. With the score tied, Telsiai created a quality look in the half-court and converted to take the lead. Suduva had chances to answer, but a contested shot and a turnover on the next possession allowed Telsiai to control the clock.

Telsiai’s free-throw shooting in the closing seconds proved decisive. Suduva managed a late basket to cut the deficit to two, but there was not enough time to complete the comeback. The visitors handled the final possession well and avoided the kind of mistake that had kept Suduva alive.

Tactical story

Telsiai’s defense was the foundation of the win. The visitors limited Suduva’s clean looks from beyond the arc and forced the home side into tough mid-range attempts. On offense, Telsiai played with patience, using screens and ball reversals to create driving lanes and open corner threes.

Suduva Mantinga competed well on the boards and generated enough second-chance points to stay in the game. However, their half-court offense became predictable in the fourth quarter, and Telsiai’s switching defense made it difficult to find a reliable scoring option down the stretch.

Standout performers

Telsiai received important contributions from its backcourt, which controlled the pace and made key shots in the fourth quarter. The frontcourt also delivered timely rebounds and defensive stops. Suduva’s leading scorers kept the home side in contention, but the team’s overall shooting percentage dipped in the final period.

Table and season impact

The 71-69 road win gives Telsiai a valuable result in the NKL standings and reinforces their ability to win close games. For Suduva Mantinga, the defeat is a frustrating one, especially with the game decided by a single possession. Both teams remain in the thick of the league’s competitive middle pack, where every result carries extra weight.
