Match overview

Alytaus Patriotai started brightly and led 22-20 after the first quarter, attacking the basket and forcing Silute into early defensive rotations. Silute responded in the second period, tightening their defense and finding better balance on offense. A 25-17 quarter gave the home side a 45-39 halftime lead.

The third quarter was where Silute truly took control. They opened the period with a 10-0 run, pushed the ball in transition and repeatedly scored inside against Alytaus’ shrinking defense. By the end of the third, Silute led 73-57, and the final quarter was largely about managing the lead and avoiding complacency.

Key moments

Silute’s 10-0 run to start the second half set the tone for the rest of the game. Back-to-back three-pointers from Marius Jankus stretched the lead to 16, and Alytaus Patriotai never recovered. The visitors tried to respond with a full-court press late in the third, but Silute broke it repeatedly for easy baskets.

Tactical story

Silute’s inside-out offense worked effectively, with post touches creating open perimeter looks and offensive rebound opportunities. They controlled the paint, out-rebounded Alytaus and got to the free-throw line at a higher rate. Alytaus Patriotai struggled with turnovers and gave up too many second-chance points, which allowed Silute to build and maintain their second-half advantage.

Standout players

• Marius Jankus (Silute): 22 points, 5 assists and 3 steals, leading the third-quarter surge.
• Edvinas Mockus (Silute): 18 points and 12 rebounds, anchoring the paint on both ends.
• Karolis Vaitkus (Alytaus Patriotai): 19 points and 4 rebounds, keeping the visitors competitive in the first half.
• Justas Remeika (Alytaus Patriotai): 13 points and 7 rebounds, but limited by foul trouble.

Season impact

The home win strengthens Silute’s position in the Nacionaline Krepsinio Lyga and reinforces their ability to control games after halftime. Alytaus Patriotai showed flashes in the first quarter but need a more consistent defensive effort on the road. Limiting turnovers and protecting the defensive glass will be priorities in their next game.
