Key moments

• First-quarter pace: Espoo’s 26-point opening period set the tone for a fast, high-scoring game.
• Halftime cushion: A 51-45 lead gave Espoo breathing room, but BC Nokia never let them relax.

Tactical story

Espoo Basket Team Women were at their best when they pushed the ball in transition and attacked before BC Nokia’s defense could set. Their guards did a good job finding open shooters, and their post players finished well around the rim. The team also moved the ball unselfishly, finishing with a balanced scoring distribution.

BC Nokia Women kept the game close with three-point shooting and aggressive drives to the basket. However, they struggled to contain Espoo’s interior scoring and gave up too many second-chance points in the fourth quarter. In a game with so many offensive weapons, those small defensive details made the difference.

Standout players

Espoo’s leading scorers paced the attack, but the win was truly a team effort. Their bench provided important minutes and scoring, helping maintain the pace when the starters rested. Defensively, Espoo’s guards set the tone with pressure at the point of attack.

BC Nokia’s top performers kept their team in contention with clutch shooting and fearless drives. Even in defeat, they showed why they are a difficult opponent in the Naisten Korisliiga. A few better possessions late in the fourth quarter could have changed the outcome.

Season impact

This 97-89 victory strengthens Espoo Basket Team Women’s position in the Naisten Korisliiga standings and gives them confidence for the next stretch of games. For BC Nokia Women, the loss is a setback, but their offensive output shows they can compete with anyone in the league. The head-to-head result will be one to watch when these teams meet again.
