Denver Nuggets 114-134 Golden State Warriors: Warriors Torch Denver from Deep in Road Blowout

The Golden State Warriors delivered an early statement on October 27, 2026, defeating the Denver Nuggets 134-114 at Ball Arena behind a blistering three-point shooting display and a dominant second-quarter run. The Warriors turned a tight game into a rout with their trademark pace and spacing, handing Denver a rare home loss.

Denver entered the game expecting to control the interior through Nikola Jokić, and the reigning MVP did his part with another triple-double. But Golden State’s perimeter attack was too much to handle. The Warriors knocked down 20 three-pointers and repeatedly beat Denver’s defense in transition, turning a competitive first quarter into a lopsided result.

Match Overview

The Nuggets started well, feeding Jokić in the post and using Jamal Murray’s shot creation to build an early lead. Denver’s half-court offense was efficient, and the home crowd was engaged. But Golden State stayed close by pushing the tempo and generating open looks from beyond the arc.

The game changed late in the first quarter and early in the second. The Warriors went on an 18-4 run bridging the two periods, forcing Denver into turnovers and rushed shots. By halftime, Golden State led by 14 and had all the momentum. Denver never truly recovered.

Key Moments

• 18-4 run: Golden State turned a two-point deficit into a double-digit lead with a run that featured four three-pointers and two Denver turnovers.
• Third-quarter flurry: The Warriors opened the second half with three straight threes, pushing the lead to 20 and forcing a Denver timeout.
• Curry’s dagger: Stephen Curry hit a deep three late in the third quarter to silence the Denver crowd and extend the lead to 23.
• Jokić’s effort: Nikola Jokić tried to keep Denver close with a triple-double, but Golden State’s shooting proved too difficult to overcome.

Tactical Story

Golden State’s offense was a masterclass in spacing and ball movement. The Warriors used Curry’s gravity to draw multiple defenders, then swung the ball to open shooters. Denver’s closeouts were a step slow, and the Nuggets paid for it from beyond the arc. Golden State also dominated the transition game, scoring 24 fast-break points.

Defensively, the Warriors were aggressive but disciplined. They doubled Jokić selectively, forced the ball out of his hands, and challenged Denver’s role players to beat them. The Nuggets shot well inside the arc but could not keep pace from three-point range. Denver also committed 17 turnovers, which Golden State converted into 25 points.

Standout Players

Stephen Curry led all scorers with 36 points, hitting 8 three-pointers and adding 7 assists. Jonathan Kuminga added 24 points, attacking the rim with confidence. Draymond Green filled the stat sheet with 10 points, 8 rebounds and 9 assists, anchoring Golden State’s defensive effort.

For Denver, Nikola Jokić finished with 30 points, 13 rebounds and 11 assists, but the Nuggets were outscored by 18 during his minutes. Jamal Murray added 22 points, and Michael Porter Jr. chipped in 17, but Denver’s bench was outscored 38-21.

Season Impact

The win is a significant early-season statement for Golden State, showing that the Warriors can still overwhelm opponents with their shooting and pace. It also gives them a valuable road win against a Western Conference contender. For Denver, the loss is a reminder that its defense must be sharper against elite shooting teams.

The Nuggets remain a formidable team, but this game exposed their vulnerability on the perimeter. Golden State’s 134-114 victory will be remembered as one of the season’s first truly dominant road performances, and it sends a warning to the rest of the West: when the Warriors are shooting like this, they are still capable of blowing any game open.
