Falco KC-Szombathely produced a thoroughly professional home performance in the Nemzeti Bajnokság I/A, beating Szedeak 96-65 by 31 points. The Hungarian side controlled the contest from the early stages, combining efficient offense with a defensive effort that never allowed the visitors to settle.

Match Overview

Falco opened with intent, moving the ball quickly and attacking in transition whenever Szedeak's shot went long. The home side's first-quarter lead was built on defensive stops as much as scoring, and once they found their rhythm from the perimeter the margin began to grow at a steady, almost relentless pace.

The second quarter removed any lingering doubt. Falco's depth showed as the bench maintained — and in places increased — the intensity, while Szedeak's offense struggled to generate clean looks against a compact, well-organised defense. By halftime the game had a settled feel, and the second half was largely about Falco managing their rotation and preserving the margin.

Key Moments

• First quarter: Falco's transition game and perimeter shooting established an early cushion.
• Second quarter: A sustained run pushed the lead well beyond 20 and effectively decided the result before the break.
• Third quarter: Falco kept their structure, rotating players without any drop in quality on either end.
• Fourth quarter: The hosts closed out a comfortable win, with the final margin reflecting their dominance across all four periods.

Tactical Story

Two factors stood out. First, Falco's defensive discipline: they protected the paint, closed out hard on shooters, and forced Szedeak into difficult, contested attempts. Second, their rebounding. Winning the battle on the boards gave Falco control of the tempo and denied Szedeak the second-chance points that might have kept the game closer.

Offensively, Falco shared the ball exceptionally well. The scoring was distributed rather than concentrated, which made them far harder to defend — double-teaming one player simply opened space for another. Szedeak, by contrast, were forced to work hard for every basket and never found a consistent offensive identity on the night.

Standout Performers

Falco's strength was their collective output. Multiple players reached double figures, the assist numbers were high, and the defensive communication was excellent throughout. The bench contribution was particularly notable in a game where the result was decided early.

For Szedeak, the evening was a difficult one, though there were individual efforts worth acknowledging — players who continued to attack the rim and compete on the glass despite the scoreline.

Season Impact

A 31-point home win is exactly the kind of result that builds momentum in the Nemzeti Bajnokság I/A. Falco KC-Szombathely are a club with a strong domestic pedigree, and performances like this reinforce their standing among the league's leading sides. The points differential is also a useful bonus in the standings.

Szedeak will treat the match as a learning experience. Competing against the top teams in the Hungarian top flight requires a level of defensive consistency that was missing here, and correcting that will be the focus of the coming weeks.

What's Next

Falco will aim to keep this standard of performance going as they continue their domestic campaign, while Szedeak will look for a response in their next fixture.
