Budapesti Honvéd SE defeated Albacomp Fehérvár 95-88 in a high-scoring Nemzeti Bajnokság I/A basketball game on October 12, 2026. The seven-point victory was powered by efficient offense, timely three-point shooting, and a late fourth-quarter run that kept the home crowd on its feet.

The 183 combined points underlined the fast pace and shot-making quality on display. Honvéd led for much of the night, but Fehérvár refused to go away, making it a tense and entertaining contest in Hungary's top men's basketball league.

Match Overview

The Nemzeti Bajnokság I/A is the premier basketball competition in Hungary, bringing together historic clubs and modern contenders. Budapesti Honvéd SE and Albacomp Fehérvár are both teams with proud traditions, and their meeting had the feel of a classic regular-season battle.

Honvéd's offense clicked from the opening tip. They moved the ball with purpose, attacked mismatches, and knocked down open looks. Fehérvár matched them for long stretches, using their own perimeter shooting and interior scoring to stay close. But Honvéd's ability to answer every run proved decisive.

Key Moments That Decided the Game

The first half was a track meet. Both teams pushed the pace, and neither defense could fully settle. Honvéd built a small lead behind hot perimeter shooting, while Fehérvár kept the deficit manageable with drives and offensive rebounds. At halftime, the game was still very much in the balance.

The third quarter saw Fehérvár make their move. A quick burst gave them a brief lead, and the home crowd grew quiet. Honvéd responded with a run of their own, reclaiming momentum behind back-to-back three-pointers and a strong sequence on the defensive end. In the fourth quarter, Honvéd's execution was sharper. They protected the ball, made free throws, and forced Fehérvár into contested shots. The final minutes belonged to the hosts, who closed out the 95-88 win.

Tactical Story

Honvéd's offense was built on spacing and quick decisions. Their guards repeatedly drove into the lane, drawing help and creating open catch-and-shoot opportunities. When Fehérvár adjusted, Honvéd punished them inside with cuts and offensive rebounds. Defensively, Honvéd pressured the ball and tried to speed up Fehérvár's possessions.

Fehérvár played well in transition and found success when they attacked early in the shot clock. However, their half-court offense became predictable late in the game. Too many possessions ended in difficult isolation shots, and Honvéd's defense capitalized. The rebounding battle was also key; Honvéd's extra possessions in the fourth quarter helped them seal the result.

Standout Performers

Honvéd received contributions across the roster. Their guards controlled the tempo, their wings knocked down timely shots, and their big men battled on the boards. The team's free-throw shooting in the fourth quarter was especially important, turning a close game into a seven-point win.

For Albacomp Fehérvár, several players had strong individual moments. Their leading scorers kept them in the game with tough finishes and perimeter shooting. But Fehérvár's defense could not get enough stops when it mattered most, and their late turnovers proved costly.

NB I/A Standings Impact

This 95-88 win gives Budapesti Honvéd SE an important early-season boost in the Nemzeti Bajnokság I/A standings. It shows they can win high-scoring games and execute under pressure. For Albacomp Fehérvár, the loss is a frustrating one, but the offensive performance offers positives to build on. In a league where playoff seeding can hinge on head-to-head results, both teams will remember this contest when the season reaches its decisive stages.
