Match overview

Both teams started brightly, trading baskets in a high-tempo opening period. Kaposvari KK matched Albacomp’s intensity on the glass and kept the game close through halftime, but the home side’s defensive adjustment after the interval changed the flow. Albacomp tightened its help defense, forced Kaposvár into early shot-clock situations, and converted stops into quick transition points.

• Quarter scores: Albacomp 24-21, 20-24, 26-18, 24-22
• Final score: Albacomp Fehervar 94, Kaposvari KK 85
• Key stretch: Albacomp’s 14-4 run midway through the third quarter

Key moments

The decisive burst came early in the third quarter. With the score tied at 44-44, Albacomp went on a 14-4 run sparked by back-to-back steals and a pair of corner three-pointers. Kaposvár called timeout, but the momentum had shifted. The visitors trimmed the deficit to six late in the fourth, only for Albacomp to answer with an and-one finish and a transition dunk that restored a comfortable cushion.

Tactical story

Albacomp’s frontcourt controlled the paint, scoring 42 points inside and grabbing 11 offensive rebounds. That interior advantage allowed the guards to play more freely on the perimeter, and the team finished with 23 assists on 34 made field goals. Kaposvari KK relied heavily on isolation scoring and three-point shooting; when those looks stopped falling in the third, the offense stalled. Defensively, Kaposvár struggled to contain dribble penetration, forcing help rotations that opened up easy kick-out threes.

Standout performers

Albacomp’s starting center delivered a complete performance with 21 points, 12 rebounds, and three blocks, anchoring both ends of the floor. The team’s point guard added 16 points and nine assists, repeatedly breaking down Kaposvár’s pick-and-roll coverage. For Kaposvari KK, the shooting guard kept the visitors within striking distance with 22 points, but the team’s bench managed just 14 points and could not match Albacomp’s depth.

Season impact

The result strengthens Albacomp Fehervar’s position in the Nemzeti Bajnokság I/A standings and underlines their home-court strength. Kaposvari KK showed flashes of offensive quality but will need more consistent defense if they are to climb the table. With the Hungarian league’s playoff race often decided by home victories and head-to-head records, this is a result Albacomp can bank as the season progresses.
