Key Moments

The tone was set in the first five minutes, when Wydad opened with a 15-2 run. Amal Essaouira struggled against Wydad’s pressure, committing turnovers that turned into easy layups. A timeout briefly slowed the pace, but Wydad quickly restored control.

The third quarter delivered the decisive blow. Wydad scored the first 11 points of the half, extending the lead to 61-22. That run featured a pair of three-pointers, a steal-and-score, and an offensive rebound putback. Amal never recovered.

Wydad’s bench maintained the intensity in the fourth quarter. Reserves contributed on both ends, and the home crowd celebrated a complete team performance.

Tactical Story

Wydad’s defensive approach was aggressive and disciplined. The team pressed in the backcourt, trapped ball handlers near the sidelines, and rotated to cover shooters. Amal was forced into long possessions and low-percentage shots.

On offense, Wydad played with pace. The guards pushed the ball after rebounds and made quick decisions in transition. When the defense collapsed, Wydad kicked out for open threes. The team also dominated the offensive glass, creating numerous second-chance points.

Amal Essaouira showed flashes of resistance in the half court but could not sustain scoring runs. The visitors’ best offense came when they slowed the game and fed the post, but Wydad’s double-teams disrupted that plan.

Standout Performers

Wydad Casablanca had five players score in double figures, led by their shooting guard, who combined perimeter accuracy with aggressive drives. The power forward recorded a double-double, anchoring the paint on both ends.

Amal Essaouira’s point guard fought hard throughout, creating several open looks for teammates. However, the team’s shooting struggles and turnover count made it difficult to keep pace.

League Impact

The 94-48 win gives Wydad Casablanca a strong result in the Morocco D1 League standings and a significant point differential advantage. It also reinforces the team’s home-court dominance and title ambitions.

For Amal Essaouira, the loss is a setback that highlights the gap between the league’s top sides and the chasing pack. The team will need to improve its ball handling and defensive transition in the coming weeks.

What’s Next

Wydad Casablanca will look to maintain its form in the next Morocco D1 League fixture, while Amal Essaouira returns home aiming to bounce back. With the season progressing, the 94-48 result will be remembered as one of Wydad’s most complete performances.
