Frayles de Guasave picked up an impressive road victory in the Mexico CIBAPAC on October 26, 2026, defeating Escuderos de Jalisco 99-86 in a game that was decided by the visitors' superior shooting and a decisive second-half run. The 13-point margin flatters the home side only slightly; for long stretches, Frayles controlled the tempo and answered every Escuderos surge with a scoring burst of their own.

Match Overview

Escuderos de Jalisco came into the contest hoping to use home-floor energy to dictate the pace, and early on the game looked like it would be a back-and-forth affair. Both teams traded baskets in an open first quarter, with Escuderos attacking the rim and Frayles doing damage from the perimeter. The difference over 40 minutes proved to be efficiency: Frayles shot the ball better from the field and converted turnovers into quick points, while Escuderos were forced to work harder for every basket.

By the closing stages, Frayles had built a cushion that allowed them to play with composure. Escuderos pushed the pace late in an attempt to close the gap, but the visitors managed the clock well and knocked down free throws to seal the result.

Key Moments

• Second-quarter separation: Frayles strung together a run built on defensive stops and transition baskets, turning a tight game into a working lead.
• Third-quarter response: Escuderos briefly cut into the deficit, but Frayles answered immediately with a scoring burst to restore control.
• Closing execution: In the final minutes, Frayles protected the ball and converted at the free-throw line to keep Escuderos at arm's length.

Tactical Story

The game followed a familiar pattern for CIBAPAC matchups: the team that controlled the defensive glass and limited second-chance points tended to control the scoreboard. Frayles did exactly that, finishing defensive possessions cleanly and pushing the ball in transition when the opportunity appeared. Escuderos generated good looks in the paint but struggled to match Frayles' outside shooting, and that shooting gap ultimately decided the contest.

Frayles also benefited from balanced scoring, which made them difficult to defend. When Escuderos collapsed on the interior, Frayles found open shooters; when the home side extended its defense, the visitors attacked the basket. That versatility kept Escuderos a step behind throughout the second half.

Standout Performers

Frayles' backcourt set the tone with composed decision-making and timely shot-making, while their frontcourt controlled the boards and made life difficult for Escuderos around the rim. For Escuderos, the effort was there — the home side competed on the glass and generated points in the paint — but the team needed a bigger shooting night to keep pace with a Frayles side that was clicking offensively.

What It Means

For Frayles de Guasave, the 99-86 win is the kind of road result that builds momentum in the CIBAPAC campaign, demonstrating an ability to score efficiently away from home. For Escuderos de Jalisco, the loss is a reminder that defensive consistency and perimeter shooting will be the difference in a competitive league schedule. The final scoreline — 99-86 — tells the story of a game won by execution down the stretch.
