• Matchup: Gallos vs Iguanas
• Final Score: Gallos 75, Iguanas 72
• Date: October 11, 2026

Scoring by Quarter

The game followed a pattern of short runs rather than one-sided stretches. Gallos opened with a steady first quarter before Iguanas answered with their best offensive period before halftime.

• Q1: Gallos 18, Iguanas 20
• Q2: Gallos 22, Iguanas 16
• Q3: Gallos 17, Iguanas 19
• Q4: Gallos 18, Iguanas 17

The second quarter proved decisive in the broader arc of the game. Gallos used a 22-point period to flip a two-point deficit into a four-point halftime advantage, and Iguanas spent the rest of the night chasing that margin.

How the Game Was Won

Gallos built their victory on balanced scoring and control of the defensive glass. With the game moving into the final minutes, the home team slowed the tempo, worked the ball into the paint, and forced Iguanas into contested jump shots rather than clean looks at the rim.

Iguanas were never out of it. Their backcourt kept the offense organized, and a late three-point attempt in the closing seconds had a chance to tie the game before rimming out, sealing the three-point final margin.

Key Moments

• A 9-0 run midway through the second quarter gave Gallos their first double-digit cushion of the night.
• Iguanas answered with a strong third quarter, cutting the lead to a single possession heading into the fourth.
• Two clutch free throws in the final minute stretched the Gallos lead to three, forcing Iguanas into a desperation three.
• A defensive stop and rebound with under ten seconds remaining effectively ended the contest.

Standout Performers

Gallos leaned on their interior presence, with their leading scorer finishing in the low twenties and adding double-digit rebounds, while the point guard controlled tempo and distributed efficiently in the half court. Iguanas were led by their shooting guard, who kept his team within reach with timely shot-making from beyond the arc.

Both benches contributed meaningful minutes, but Gallos' reserves were slightly more effective on the defensive end, generating extra possessions through hustle plays and second-chance opportunities.

Season Impact

The win is a valuable one for Gallos in the CIBACOPA standings, particularly because it came against a direct rival in a game decided by a single possession. In a league where road wins are hard to come by, protecting home court is essential, and this performance fits that pattern.

For Iguanas, the loss is a frustrating one but not damaging in isolation. The margins in CIBACOPA are thin, and a three-point road defeat suggests the team remains competitive in the playoff conversation. Both sides will look to build on the lessons from this game as the schedule continues.
