ROSTER GALLOS Edge Escuderos de Jalisco 96-94 in CIBACOPA Thriller

ROSTER GALLOS escaped with a 96-94 road win over Escuderos de Jalisco in Mexico CIBACOPA action on October 23, 2026, in a game that came down to the final possessions. The visitors trailed for long stretches but produced a composed closing run to steal a valuable result.

With the win, ROSTER GALLOS improved their position in the CIBACOPA standings and demonstrated the kind of late-game execution that matters in a tightly packed season. Escuderos de Jalisco were left to rue missed opportunities at the free-throw line and a few costly turnovers in the final two minutes.

Match Overview

The game was played at a fast pace, with both teams trading runs and momentum swings. The quarter scoring reflected how evenly matched the sides were:

• First quarter: Escuderos de Jalisco 23-21
• Second quarter: ROSTER GALLOS 25-19
• Third quarter: Escuderos de Jalisco 27-22
• Fourth quarter: ROSTER GALLOS 28-25

Escuderos de Jalisco held a narrow advantage for much of the second half, but ROSTER GALLOS stayed within striking distance. The visitors' three-point shooting and ability to score in transition kept them alive before their late-game execution made the difference.

Key Moments

The final two minutes provided the drama. Escuderos de Jalisco led 92-88 after a strong inside finish, but ROSTER GALLOS responded with an 8-2 run. Diego Valdez sparked the comeback with a three-point play, and a subsequent defensive stop gave the visitors the chance to take the lead. Andre Mason then converted a tough contested jumper to put ROSTER GALLOS ahead for good.

Escuderos had a final opportunity to tie or win the game, but their last possession ended with a contested shot that rimmed out. The margin was tight enough that every missed free throw and every empty possession felt significant, and ROSTER GALLOS did just enough in the closing seconds.

Tactical Story

ROSTER GALLOS benefited from a balanced offensive approach. They attacked the paint early to draw help defenders, then kicked the ball out for open three-pointers. That inside-out strategy kept Escuderos de Jalisco guessing and created enough spacing for their guards to operate in the fourth quarter.

Escuderos de Jalisco excelled in the paint for long stretches, using their size and physicality to score around the rim. However, their perimeter defense faltered in the final period, and they allowed ROSTER GALLOS to find rhythm from beyond the arc. The free-throw battle also proved important, with ROSTER GALLOS making the most of their late trips to the line.

Standout Performers

Diego Valdez led ROSTER GALLOS with 27 points and made several key plays down the stretch. Andre Mason added 24 points and controlled the boards, while Luis Carrillo contributed 18 points and steady playmaking. For Escuderos de Jalisco, Jorge Ibarra scored 26 points, Mateo Salazar added 20, and Emiliano Rojas finished with 14. Despite their strong individual efforts, Escuderos could not close out the game.

Season Impact

The 96-94 win is the kind of road result that can shape a CIBACOPA season. ROSTER GALLOS showed resilience and poise under pressure, while Escuderos de Jalisco will focus on late-game decision-making and free-throw accuracy. In a league where home-court advantage matters, stealing a win in Jalisco could prove valuable when the standings are reviewed later in the campaign.
