Tactical Breakdown

Monterrey's game plan revolved around controlling the paint and forcing Toluca into long, contested jump shots. Their zone defense frustrated Toluca's ball handlers, leading to 18 turnovers, which Monterrey converted into 20 points. On offense, Monterrey moved the ball effectively, recording 15 assists on 24 made field goals, consistently finding open shooters and cutters.

Toluca, on the other hand, struggled with shot selection and committed too many live-ball turnovers. Their half-court offense often stalled, and they were forced to settle for low-percentage attempts. Defensively, Toluca had no answer for Monterrey's interior presence, allowing easy baskets in the paint and second-chance points off offensive rebounds.

Standout Performers

• Monterrey's starting center: Dominated the paint with a double-double, finishing with 18 points and 11 rebounds while altering numerous shots on defense.
• Monterrey's point guard: Orchestrated the offense with 9 assists and 12 points, consistently breaking down Toluca's defense and setting up teammates.
• Monterrey's small forward: Added 14 points, including two crucial three-pointers in the third quarter that halted Toluca's comeback attempt.
• Toluca's shooting guard: Led her team with 14 points, knocking down three 3-pointers, but struggled with turnovers under pressure.
• Toluca's power forward: Grabbed a team-high 9 rebounds and scored 8 points, but was limited by foul trouble in the second half.
