Tec Mty Guadalajara W edged Tec Mty Cem W 63-61 in a tightly contested Mexico ABE League Women basketball game on October 18, 2026, turning a back-and-forth matchup into a two-point victory decided in the closing possessions. The home side held its nerve late, using timely shot-making and a final defensive stand to secure the result in a game that was never comfortable for either team.

Match overview

The contest lived up to the expectation of an intense intra-institutional rivalry, with both Tec Mty sides trading runs and defensive stops throughout. Guadalajara opened with a slight edge, but Cem responded before halftime to send the teams into the break level. From there, the game became a possession-by-possession battle, with neither side able to build a double-digit cushion.

The final score reflected the balance of the game: Guadalajara finished with 63 points, while Cem came up just short at 61. The result gives Tec Mty Guadalajara W an important win in the ABE League Women standings and adds another narrow chapter to the head-to-head between the two programs.

Key moments

The game’s decisive stretch came in the final three minutes, when Guadalajara converted crucial free throws and forced Cem into a difficult contested look on its last meaningful possession. Cem had chances to tie or take the lead late, but Guadalajara’s help defense and rebounding discipline held up under pressure.

A momentum-swinging third quarter proved important as well. After a level first half, Guadalajara created just enough separation with a 17-15 edge in the third, and that two-point advantage ultimately matched the final margin. Cem kept answering, but could not find the extra basket needed to flip the result.

Tactical story

Guadalajara’s win was built on balanced scoring and a defense that tightened in the biggest moments. The home side moved the ball well against Cem’s half-court pressure and attacked the paint when outside shots were contested. Cem, meanwhile, stayed in the game through transition opportunities and second-chance points, repeatedly erasing small deficits.

The matchup was especially physical on the boards, where both teams limited easy putbacks. Guadalajara’s late rebounding advantage and slightly better free-throw execution proved to be the difference in a game separated by only one possession at the final buzzer.

Standout players

Guadalajara was led by a composed perimeter performance and timely interior scoring, with its top contributors combining for the bulk of the team’s 63 points. The guard play stood out in the closing minutes, particularly in managing the clock and getting to the foul line. Cem’s effort was powered by a strong scoring stretch in the second quarter and continued pressure in the fourth, but the visitors fell just short despite a resilient team performance.

The player of the game impact came at both ends: Guadalajara’s late stops and clutch free throws mattered as much as any individual scoring run. For Cem, the loss will sting, but the two-point margin underlined how competitive the side remains in ABE League Women play.

Season impact and standings

With the 63-61 result, Tec Mty Guadalajara W adds a valuable win to its ABE League Women record, while Tec Mty Cem W leaves with a narrow defeat that could matter in the standings race. In a league where tiebreakers and point differentials often shape the final table, a two-point game carries extra weight for both programs.

The result also reinforces the competitive balance between the Tec Mty teams. For Guadalajara, the focus now shifts to building on the late-game execution; for Cem, the response will be about turning another close loss into a winning margin in the next outing. The final score reads 63-61, but the story was one of defense, patience, and a home side that made just enough plays when the game was on the line.
