Tec Mty Guadalajara W defeated Modelo University Women's Basketball 57-48 in Mexico ABE League Women action on October 24, 2026. The road side relied on disciplined defense and composed half-court execution to secure a nine-point victory in a game where scoring opportunities were hard to come by.

The final score reflects a contest defined by defensive pressure and deliberate possessions. Neither team found an easy rhythm from the perimeter, and the game was decided by the team that made the more consistent decisions in the paint and at the free-throw line. Tec Mty Guadalajara W made those plays down the stretch.

Match overview

Modelo University opened with energy and tried to use its home setting to establish an early advantage. Tec Mty Guadalajara W, however, remained calm and focused on controlling the tempo. The visitors were content to work through their half-court sets, avoid rushed shots, and make Modelo defend for long stretches.

The game remained low-scoring because both defenses were active. Modelo’s guards looked to create off the dribble, while Tec Mty Guadalajara W used help defense and timely rotations to close driving lanes. The result was a grinding contest in which every basket felt important.

How the game turned

The decisive stretch came in the second half, when Tec Mty Guadalajara W tightened its defense and began to convert stops into points. A series of patient offensive possessions helped the visitors build a lead, and Modelo was forced to chase the game. The home side had chances to cut into the deficit, but missed shots and turnovers prevented a sustained comeback.

In the fourth quarter, Modelo increased its pressure and tried to speed up the game. Tec Mty Guadalajara W handled that pressure well, using smart passes and timely free throws to protect the advantage. The visitors did not allow Modelo to string together enough quick baskets to make the finish uncomfortable.

Tactical story: defense wins the night

Tec Mty Guadalajara W’s defensive discipline was the standout feature of the game. The visitors contested shots, limited easy looks near the rim, and forced Modelo into difficult decisions late in possessions. Their rebounding effort also helped them control the game’s pace and prevent second-chance points.

Modelo’s defense was competitive for much of the night, but the offense could not find enough consistency. The home side needed a stronger shooting performance from the perimeter to stretch Tec Mty Guadalajara W’s defense. When those shots did not fall, Modelo became too reliant on individual drives against a compact defense.

Standout performers

Tec Mty Guadalajara W received steady contributions across its rotation. The guards managed the game well, the forwards battled on the boards, and the team’s defensive communication stood out in the closing minutes. It was a collective win rather than one built on a single dominant scoring performance.

For Modelo University, there were positive moments on the defensive end and on the glass, but the offense lacked the rhythm needed to overcome a nine-point deficit. The home side will need to improve its shot selection and ball security in upcoming games.

What the result means

The win gives Tec Mty Guadalajara W a valuable result in the Mexico ABE League Women standings and reinforces the importance of defense in the team’s identity. For Modelo University Women's Basketball, the 48-57 loss is a reminder that in a low-scoring game, small details—turnovers, free throws, and rebounding—carry outsized weight.

Tec Mty Guadalajara W will look to maintain its defensive intensity, while Modelo will focus on finding more consistent offense as the season progresses. The nine-point margin may not look dramatic, but it represented a clear difference in late-game execution.
