• Halftime: Tec Mty Toluca 42-25
• End of third quarter: Tec Mty Toluca 61-40

Key Moments

The game’s decisive stretch came in the final minutes of the first quarter and the start of the second. Leading 16-12, Tec Mty Toluca closed the opening period with a 7-0 run and then opened the second quarter with six straight points. That 13-0 burst pushed the advantage to 29-12 and effectively broke the game open.

UDLAP never recovered. Toluca’s defense continued to contest every shot, and its rebounding limited second-chance opportunities. By the time the third quarter ended, the home side had built a 21-point cushion and was able to rotate its bench for much of the fourth.

Tactical Story

Tec Mty Toluca’s defensive game plan was executed almost perfectly. The team protected the paint, closed out aggressively on shooters, and forced UDLAP into difficult contested attempts. Toluca’s guards also applied consistent ball pressure, making it hard for UDLAP to run its offense comfortably.

On offense, Toluca played with patience and precision. The team attacked the basket when lanes opened and moved the ball well enough to create open perimeter looks. Its rebounding advantage was significant, and the extra possessions allowed Toluca to build and maintain its lead. UDLAP, meanwhile, struggled to find secondary scoring and was never able to string together enough stops to mount a comeback.

Standout Performers

Tec Mty Toluca received a strong all-around performance from its forward, who finished with 20 points and nine rebounds. The team’s guard added 16 points and seven assists, controlling the tempo and consistently finding open teammates. A bench contributor also reached double figures, underlining the depth that made the difference.

UDLAP’s best effort came from its guard, who scored 14 points and competed hard on both ends. A post player added 10 points and seven rebounds, but UDLAP’s offense was too inconsistent to keep pace with Toluca’s balanced attack.

What the Result Means

The win is a strong statement for Tec Mty Toluca in the Mexico ABE League standings, demonstrating the team’s defensive identity and depth. For UDLAP, the loss highlights the need for more consistent half-court execution and better rebounding against physical opponents. The 79-55 scoreline will serve as a clear measure of Toluca’s dominance on the night.
