Tactical story: perimeter shooting and late execution

Universidad Interamericana’s offense was patient and efficient. They moved the ball well against Anahuac’s zone, creating open looks from beyond the arc and attacking closeouts when the defense overcommitted. Defensively, they forced Anahuac into contested jump shots in the final five minutes and limited second-chance opportunities by securing key rebounds.

Anahuac Xalapa’s effort was commendable, especially on the offensive glass, but their half-court execution faltered late. They had several chances to tie the game but missed open looks and turned the ball over at crucial moments.

Javier Robles added important perimeter shooting and defensive energy. For Anahuac, Jorge Luna was a bright spot inside, finishing with a strong double-double effort and keeping his team in the game with timely rebounds.

Season impact

The road win gives Universidad Interamericana valuable momentum in the Mexico ABE League standings and reinforces their credentials as a tough team to beat away from home. Anahuac Xalapa will look to regroup quickly, especially on the defensive end, after letting a close game slip away in the final quarter.
