Negeri Sembilan Thump ATM 94-45 in Malaysia MABA Cup Blowout

Negeri Sembilan produced one of the most dominant performances of the Malaysia MABA Cup on Wednesday, 14 October 2026, crushing ATM 94-45 in a 10:00 tip-off at the MABA Stadium in Kuala Lumpur. The final score told the story of a complete mismatch: Negeri Sembilan controlled the game from the opening minutes, overwhelmed ATM with defensive pressure, and never allowed their opponents to settle into any kind of rhythm.

By the time the fourth quarter began, the contest was already settled. Negeri Sembilan led 74-39, and their bench finished the job with the same intensity as the starters. The 49-point margin underlined just how sharp Negeri Sembilan were at both ends of the floor, while ATM were left searching for answers after a difficult morning.

First Half: Negeri Sembilan Set the Tone

ATM actually started with some promise. Their guards knocked down a couple of early jumpers, and for the first few minutes the game had a competitive feel. But Negeri Sembilan quickly changed the tempo with full-court pressure and aggressive traps on the wings. The result was a wave of ATM turnovers that turned into easy transition baskets.

Negeri Sembilan closed the first quarter on a decisive run to lead 28-18. The second quarter was even more one-sided. ATM managed only nine points in the period, struggling against Negeri Sembilan’s switching defense and failing to generate clean looks in the half-court. Negeri Sembilan, meanwhile, moved the ball beautifully, finding open shooters and cutters with regularity. A 24-9 second quarter sent them into halftime with a commanding 52-27 advantage.

Second Half: No Way Back for ATM

Any hope of an ATM comeback required a fast start to the third quarter. Instead, Negeri Sembilan opened the half with another burst, extending their lead beyond 30 points. ATM’s offense remained stuck in neutral: too many contested jumpers, too few drives into the paint, and almost no second-chance opportunities against a physical Negeri Sembilan frontcourt.

The third quarter finished 22-12 in Negeri Sembilan’s favor, pushing the score to 74-39. In the fourth, Negeri Sembilan’s reserves kept the pressure on, outscoring ATM 20-6 over the final ten minutes. The final buzzer confirmed a 94-45 win, a result that will be remembered as a statement performance in this year’s MABA Cup.

Tactical Story: Pressure and Pace

Negeri Sembilan’s game plan was clear from the opening possession: dictate pace, force turnovers, and attack before ATM’s defense could set up. Their guards picked up full court, their wings jumped passing lanes, and their big men rotated aggressively on the back line. That defensive energy translated directly into offense, with Negeri Sembilan repeatedly scoring in transition before ATM could recover.

ATM, by contrast, looked most comfortable in isolation basketball, but the lack of ball movement made them predictable. When Negeri Sembilan loaded up on the strong side, ATM had no counter. Their half-court sets often ended in tough, late-clock shots, and their shooting percentages suffered as a result. Defensively, ATM could not contain Negeri Sembilan’s dribble penetration, which collapsed the defense and opened up kick-out three-pointers.

Standout Players

Negeri Sembilan’s backcourt set the tone. Point guard Amirul Hakim controlled the game with 18 points, nine assists, and five steals, repeatedly turning ATM mistakes into easy baskets. Forward Faisal Rahman was a force inside and out, finishing with 20 points and 11 rebounds, while reserve wing Daniel Tan added 14 points off the bench to keep the lead growing in the s
